installed a new gauge cluster and the air bag light stays on?

i got a new gauge cluster for my 00 z28 and when i got the cluster in and fired up the car everything works well except the air bag light stays on, it wont go away, i also disconnected the battery and still the air bag light stays on, how can i get rid of this air bag light, do i need a gm tech 2?, but before i put the cluster in my air bag light wasn't on before..

Maybe reset the PCM, is that what you were trying to do by disconnecting the battery? I would think the error would come up again if you reset the PCM but it's worth a try.

To reset PCM:
turn key on - don't start car
pull PCM BATT and PCM IGN fuses
wait 5-10 min.
turn ignition off
replace fuses
