Recently my shift forks 3-4 bent I had a hard time shifting between them. I read on here that D&D perfomance was my best bet in Michigan. Well the thing is I pulled the manual trans to take it in an noticed the inside of the belthousing was full of oil, it was not leaking on the ground or anything to prior notice it. So I look at the rear main seal to see if it is leaking since it looked like motor oil, but its not coming from that its dry. Looked above the flywheel to see if it is coming from above and it is completely dry on top. I called d and d and they said its definitly not coming from the trans(I already took the trans in to them). I've sent the clutch and flywheel to spec where I got it from to be refubished since it was full of oil. The only place I can see the oil could be coming from is the end of the crankshaft, pilot bearing area. Has anyone heard of this or had the same problem because I'm all out of ideas and I don't want to put the clutch and trans back in and have everything covered in oil again, so I need some sort of idea what the problem might be.

Could it be fluid from the slave cylinder.

Sorry forgot to mention that is brand new and I've already checked that I wish that it was that easy, but thankx forthe input.

:confused: :confused: Porosity of the block maybe? Just throwing out ideas.
Check everything back there, could be a pressure leak where it sprays oil out directly on the flywheel only while running oner high pressure.:confused:

Done some more looking at the pilot bearing and that is positiveley where the oil is coming from. Could it be that the crankshaft is cracked or something and leaking that way because thats where all the oil seams to be from.

I never heard of anything like that but I guess it's possible.:confused:

I'm thinking I must be the first person with this type of leak in the pilot bearing crankcase or something.

Where else could I go or call for info about this. I can't fix it if I don't know what to fix. All I know is I got some oil coming out the center of the pilot bearing. :think:

well, why not clean the area real good, and run the eng. to see where the oil comes from. you can install some oil dye and use a black light to help see where its coming from. when I removed the t56 from my 95, there was oil inside the bellhousing, but not on the act. clutch disc or press. plate. wsnt puddled up or anything though. Id say some oil is normal, but if your new clutch and press. plate were soaked in it, then somethings goin on. are yo usure its not the rear main seal?

postive its not the rear main, and can't start it the clutch and flywheel is still at spec. Spec had to turn the flywheel. They put new kevlar pads on it (spec st. 2) Trans is still at D&D performance also.

There was no oil behind the flywheel, its not coming from above and leaking down, not fluid from the slave cylinder, it seems to be originating in the pilot bearing. If I put it back together when the clutch is refurbished and the trans shift forks are changed I'll be in the same boat I'm in now. That clutch had only less than 2,000 miles on it if that.
