Where did you mount your Auto Meter shift light?

for a 97+, which i have, i got mine in one of the air vents, works perfectly, and is stealth

I mounted mine right beside my automatic shifter. :o

:D Just kidding. I was going to suggest the air vents.

Mine is to the right of the steering wheel, near the ac vent. Here are some pics:

OK a couple more questions

Red wire is pretty simple. Just go to the fuse block.

Where did you connect the green wire? I have heard that the pink/black wire going to the coil will give a tach signal.


And a simple wire....the ground. Where did you connect this? I would like to find SOME metal in or under the dash, clean it off, and attach the ground.
When I installed the scanmaster earlier this year I couldn't find any metal, and just ran it's ground to my fan switch's ground. (which runs right to the ground at the battery. Problem is I think this is the reason I keep getting a fan relay code. So I have to find some metal for both the shift light and the scanmaster.

I got a wiring diagram for my car and tapped into the wire running to the factory tach, in the instrument cluster. I grounded it to one of the bolts coming through the firwall near the steering column.
