Used shocks w/ new springs?

I'm thinking about buying these Koni shocks that have been used for about 10k miles at stock ride height, but I want to use them with some DMS springs. I've heard that if a shock is broken in at a specific ride height, it won't work correctly if you permanently alter the ride height. Anybody know anything about this? Thanks!

10k miles isnt much for a good shock like a koni.
