Had a guy's gf point my car out to him today when he pulled into the credit union(I was outside talking to someone I knew). I hear her get excited at first, then say...."aww it's only a V6 cause he doesn't have the Z28 tips." Keep in mind the rear catback is gone and I have a turndown about 3 inches after the cat. He's driving a talon with stickers from top to bottom on both sides of the rear quarters behind the doors, all over the bottom of the front fenders, on the hood, on the rear hatch window, etc. Fart can, wheels, and that's it. So I look over as I hear this and get this smirk from both of them. I make sure I'm in the drivers seat when he comes back out and gets in. Right after he starts up his ride I turn the key on mine. No rev or anything, just start it up. Both their heads snapped over so fast lol. He gives his car a good rev. and laughes trying to act unimpressed. I sit there looking right at em and give her a 6k flash for a second(this is where my car screams). He just shuts up and drives away. I leave in the other direction and head to the movie joint thinking that was the end of my fun. Long story short after I pick up a movie and come back out he's there also returning one. Comes over and asks me if I think my car is fast and I honestly answer him that I thought it was pretty quick. Laughes again and makes some comment like "you can't consider your car quick if you've never raced anything but slow cars" or something like that I dunno. I offer to show him the car can back up the exhaust and he bites. We agree to leave from there and do a short run up the road, as we pull out I motion I'll follow him whenever he's ready. He comes outta the parking lot like a bat outta hell and is off. I'm out right behind him and after about 40-45 I'm running by him like he pulled a parachute. Shut down around 55-60. Get to a light further up the road and I ask him why he quit running and if he wanted to try again from side by side this time. He just say's nahh, and doesn't say much else. So I give him a thanks for shutting down for me and giving me a chance(since I pulled out behind him). He finally just say's " I didn't shut down, I had it floored the entire time and you just blew by me." I guess I couldn't hear his reving engine over the LT1. We both just pulled away after that and he turned on the next street. Skipping the middle part we spoke about mods and although we both agreed he'd probably still get me a little off the line we were totally the opposite as to who we thought would win after that. We each thought of course we would. He was mod free besides all the stickers and the exhaust, I have the mod's in the sig. with some sticky tires now.

 

I was expecting a big thumpin cam to be in your sig with the way you described the 6k rpm buzz. Oh well, nice kill though.

Nah I wish. Cam is the next mod after I ever get around to dropping the LT's in. In my town the loudest vehicle is probably a big truck with glass packs. I'm probably somewhere around the top for meanest sounding vehicle. Makes my buddies 95' TA with a Flowmaster catback drown out. Didn't mean for it to sound like I was describing the car as a nascar or something, it's just louder than all get out and much meaner than the Talon with the fart can.

 

I wouldnt advertise that dsm like that w/ all the stickers or have the big mouth he did if I was basically stock

 

I didn't really get into reading everything but it was basically a collection of "Niche","Neuspeed","K&N",etc. I may have mispelled them though. Anyway they were just the conventional "ricer" style advertisements, I don't think he actually had many of the parts, if any lol.
