I recently built a forged 355 except for the crank.

Its got an eagle cast crank rated for 500-550hp at 7000 rpms. I know it can take much more but im sure they have a method of determining this like running the engine for an hour at 550hp at 7000 rpms or something.
Stock crank is rated at what 450 at 6000 rpms or something??

Crank is balanced and blue printed at .033 heavy on the front and .028 grams on the back. Stock it was 78.2 and 45.3 grams on front and back. So the new crank has a lot less stress spinning at higher rpms..

Rods are Eage I beam forged with ARP bolts rated at 550hp
Pistons are light weight TRW forged race pistons. 450 dollar pistons with plasma moly rings.

2 bolt main but with ARP Main bolts. 11.3 compression.

Fully ported LT1 heads with an XE230/236 112 lsa.

Im looking at 385-410rwhp out of my set up N/A and was curious if it were up to you.. What kind of shot would you put on it.. Pretend this is your daily driver (even though its not my daily) but pretend it is your daily and wanted it to be reliable..
Brand New T56, LT4 clutch, stock 10 bolt on 17inch Nitto drag radials.

What shot would u spray if u wanted to be on the safe side and the car last you many years?

kewl... yeah im just curious... If i get beat a lot i'll just start spraying it..

My friend dom was using a 150 shot on his stock motor and snapped a rod.. HE ran the car on nitrous for about 6 months with 100-150 shots. He made 453rwhp and 613ft lbs of torque with the 150 shot. He sprayed about a bottle every 2 weeks for 6 months though. No dyno tune, just Tunercat tune on the street.

The shop that did my motor said start small then work your way up. I'm still breaking in my motor but once it's done i'm starting a 50 shot then working it up every 50 increments until the motor is happy at the range.

I had a similar set up... Ran a 150rw shot and the motor's still together.. Those TRW's are stout little pistons :)

Did he actually brake the rod or was it the bolts leting go?

the rod itself broke in half.. and when it broke many pistons were destroyed in the process and the crank was scarred up and there was a hole in the oil pan.

He was running -5 degrees timing i believe.. He kept getting false knock even with the LT4 sensor so he had it set to -5 all the time. Because of that he was at 327rwhp on motor when he should have been at 349rwhp if he had his 5 degrees back.

Yeah i was told the TRW's are tuff... The engine shop said on my NA engine, the pistons would be fine for pulling them out of my engine and putting them into another engine with no problems or worries.
