Okay guys, my wife wanted something old, fast and loud....so we picked up KJ's 79 T/A last weekend. Great car, real solid. It's Dk Blue with light blue interior. It needs some bodywork and a paint job, so we've come to a dilema. We don't want to swap the interior cause of the cost, so we are limited to Dk Blue, Medium Blue, Silver or White. All with a blue/black bird and dark grey mesh wheels off a late 3rd gen.

So what do you guys think of the color choices? Dk blue would be the easiest cause I could leave the door jambs and trunk the way it is.

Let me know any ideas you have.....

Jeremy, I am liking silver. I think its a great versatile color that, when done right, just looks classy - soemthing like the Fbody silver color. If not silver, then go with Dk Blue.

btw...I wanna see this sucka :).

It's a fun car,she hasn't driven the fake Cobra since we got it! It's got a stock 403 with headers and flows. It sounds pretty damn nasty- very General Lee-ish.

The 403 is an Olds motor... Try and find a 400/455 Poncho to put in....;)

Trust me, a 455 is in the long term plans, I have on sitting in my dad's barn...next to a set of Ram Air III heads.....next to a Wenzler two piece tunnel ram!!!

For now I just want to make it a cool driver for my wife. I have few other toys to play with(see below...).

It has horrrid light blue velour seats in it, I mean these must be the worst idea anyone has ever had. I think I'm going to go with vinyl, year one had a lot of repro kits on their site that weren't too costly.

So I have one vote for silver and a sorta for Dk blue- anyone else?

You can swap a T-56 behind a 400, some one sold the kit a couple years ago to do it. That'd be my ultimate 2nd gen, next to of course a 1972 Pontiac Trans Am 455, lucern blue with the white stripe.
