bleeding brakes??

I am about to do my LS1 brake swap (front only) and was wondering if there was a X pattern to follow when bleeding the brakes? any help or tips would be appriciated!

Start farthest away from the ABS modulator, rear pass., rear drivers, pass. side, drivers side, then the modulator itself. For best results, bleed again after driving around but it isnt necessary. Buy a clear hose from the hardware store so brake fluid doesnt spray everywhere.

where is the bleeder on the modulator? I never looked for it.

There are two bleeders on the ABS system. They look just like the ones on your calipers, but are up on the square ABS box that all the brake lines run into, right where the CAI would be on a normal Z28 - behind the driver's headlight in the engine bay.

Also another tip on bleeding... if you tap the calipers lightly with a hammer, you can usually get some of the small air bubbles that cling to the walls of the caliper to come out. Do that before you bleed them (except in your case the fronts are completely dry so you might do it on the second bleed recommended).

FYI:

You are supposed to bleed the ABS unit first, then do the 4 wheels. Just like you would bleed a master cylinder first on an older set-up. The hammer trick is a good one indeed.

According to the GM service manual, it says to bleed the ABS, 4 wheels and then the ABS again.
