I have about 65000 miles and i think its about that time... what do you guys out there think are the best plugs and the best wires, do they give any HP gains? what do they cost?

Most guys run NGK TR55 plugs. They run about $2 ea.

I have the NGK TR55-IX iridium plugs because I don't want to replace them every 10,000 miles. They run about $7 ea.

As for wires I have the Taylor Thundervolt wires. They run about $60 a set.

With shipping and everything I think I paid about $120 for plugs and wires. If you want more information you can check thunder racing (http://www.thunderracing.com), that's where I got mine.

That's not true at all. With a modern ignition system the copper tr55s will last 30,000 or more miles. Heck I changed mine in the race car at 20,000 just because I had them out to do heads not becauase they were failing. The ones in the wifes 98 SS have been in there 24,000 with no signs of failing.

Do wire make that much of a difference? I still have my stockers

not really, but they are cheap, effective and look better.

and just in case you pull a boot off the wire, you'll kick yourself for not having new ones ;)

Ive had my MSD 8.8 wires ever since ive owned my car and they hold up great. I switch my plugs from time to time though becaus i spray alot of nitrous in my time. lol. But they NGKs and Auto Lights are awsome. I prefer NGK though becaus autolight plugs break alot more often when i take them out.

no plug is more effective enough to warrent 2-3 times the $$

stick with the ngk's...can't beat em for $2 each
