I'm installing an Autometer water temperature gauge on my 02 Camaro. Where (how) should I install the temperature sensor? I know the stock sensor is on the driver side head, but I thought this would mess up the PCM if I removed that one. So.... any suggestions? My current guess is that I'll have to remove the water pump and drill/ tap a hole for the autometer temperature sensor. This will be a real pain in the a$$, so if there's an easier method, please let me know :) !!
Thanks in advance.

Sending unit for the guage is in the driver's side head [between #1 & #3 cylinders]
Sending unit for the PCM is in the water pump housing..
You can either swap the head sending unit out, or install the new one in the passenger side head between #6 & #8 cylinders [same hole as used for guage in the drivers head, if the head was on that side]

I don't think there is a sensor in the water pump of a LS1
I just did a water pump on a 99 SS and don't remember having to swap it

This is all true for the LT1.... But, the question was about an LS1.
