Wet O2 extension?

Ok this might me kinda wierd, but I had to make an O2 extension for the passenger side header. When it rains my car runs like crap(bogs down and idles rough) and i wonder if water getting into the conections of the o2 extension i made would cause this. Any help would really be apperciated. Thanks
