I just installed an Alpine Head unit with 4 Infinity (reference series) speakers.2 6-1/2" 2 way componets (rated at 270 watts) in the front door and 2 4x6" (rated at 135) in the rear panels (oh bytheway this is in a GMC Sierra)
I havent amped yet as the Alpine says its rated at 50Watts max. Now the sound first impression wasnt what I expected. I think adding a sub would definitely give me the low end i am looking for. But also should I amp the Infinitys? When I crank up the head unit the sound is loud but not clean.
I could use any advise as I am not a stereo guru. Should I amp? And should I add a sub. If I add a Sub should I go with a powered tube aka Bazooka type or what?
Thanks again.
Sean
