Alcohol users.. roll call

I've just modified my water/alcohol kit a little.

I've got a small armed light, a red active light behind the boost gauge (only visible while on and only to the driver)

I'm using a McMaster Carr misting nozzle, shurflow pump, and a switch that turns the system on at 33% and higher throttle. I'm not using a WOT switch because at that throttle I see 4psi consitantly (proved with datalogs)

I bypassed the stock pressure switch and i'm using needle valve to control flow. Its not working really all that great so i'll be looking to build a PWM controller soon for it. any electrical engineers want to chime in with plans?? ;)

Tonight i've bought some straight methonol to try on the dyno next week. i have been using a methonol/water mix.

What are you guys using?

Im using pure alky and no water. :)

How does your stock system control the flow? Does it vary the flow by increasing the voltage to the pump?

100% alcohol, alky controls kit with proggresive controler. use windsield washer tank as alky tank. comes on at 3.5 lbs and adds pump pressure with boost increase.

awesome.. have any of you guys been concerned with fires?

This alcohol burns so clearly that you can't see the flame nor can you smell it..

There are a few systems for the turbo buicks that would easily adapt to F-bodies. A member by the name "Razor" on TB.com sells a progressive kit that has become quite popular. Where GNs usually can run about 16-17 psi on 93 octane before getting knock, guys running his system are hitting upwards of 27psi on 93. I was using the SMC kit (not progressive... just boost turn on selectable and pump speed adjustable) and could hit about 25psi on 93. Both have control modules for everything and all you do is hook it up.... takes a couple of hours and you're ready to go... all hoses and wires, tank, everything included. Aside from installing a chip this was the easiest mod i ever did to the GN. And probably the best one of all.

BTW i was running 100% denatured alcohol from lowes. About $8 a gallon and one tank would last about 10 1/4mi runs. Car didn't like it when i ran a mixture with water... always ran best on pure alcohol and a shot of WD-40 for pump lube.

The one im using is from alkyl control... i have yet to install it but he did modify a washer fluid tank specifically for my car.. so i gues sits adaptable and its progressive.

I am running 50/50 methanol water here. It is the STS sequential system. I have it set to run with my high boost switch armed, where it injects at a set boost psi which is adjustable and runs sequentially off the injector pulse (PWM_duty cycle). The system also has a built in pressure switch to the pump, which can be used to turn off the high boost if the pressure drops. There are also interchangeable jets. I have 3 LEDs which show the status of the system.

When you say denatured alcohol, do you man rubbing alcohol?
