INTMD8 06-09-2004, 09:18 PM Since my car was on the rack to remove the trans, I took a few pics of the setup.
fwiw, the ghetto silicone induction(s) will soon be replaced by hard pipe.

Grover 06-09-2004, 09:50 PM Nice pics!!
That's a nice way you installed the gauges in the dash.
Where did you get the tranny blanket? I have been trying to find one of those.
97WS6SCharged 06-09-2004, 10:21 PM Drool.

Steve
93z96svt 06-10-2004, 01:24 AM those dyno #'s are just disgusting! is the kit custom built? im looking for a turbo kit for my 93, not really having any luck....
Highlander 06-10-2004, 03:39 AM They are tight.. but they look perfectly thought out and fit...
Im not sure how he gets his spark plugs out and dont know why you didn't use an aftermarket k-member... it would have improved the spacing a lot i think.
ZBLKHELLRZR 06-10-2004, 04:48 AM Man that is just plain sick! But I ain't gonna lie. That's got to be hell working on that thing....well at least to me it does. I want a TT 396 but it just wouldn't be pratical in day to day driving in the US whenever I return. US highways just don't allow you to just run flat out if you have the urge, ya know?
Sheet metal intake, TT's I don't even wanna know what it cost to get that done. BUT I LOVE IT! Congrats that joker is nice!

Agreed, looks sweet ;)
I also like the gauge install ;)
I might have to consider that as I yanked out the A/C.

camarossguy2 06-10-2004, 08:29 AM I wonder if you i can run my ati twins like that...although the inlets are if different places.
DD or not daily driver? I would think you inter coolers would get alot of junk in them if you ever took it in the rain.
I like it alot.
MEAN LT1 06-10-2004, 08:35 AM Very nice setup you go there. I also want to know why you dont have a tubular k-member in there.:)

I CANT LIVE W/O A/C :(
Geoff Chadwick 06-10-2004, 08:40 AM Yeah. The stock K-member must have made that hard. VERY impressive.
Also I'm looking at the dash - I wonder how it was modded to fit those gauges? I'm mounting my gauges inside the bezel with the stock ones- it's really hard to do (I'm modding the gauges themselves to fit) but that way they are hidden and dont stand out. A drop top camaro with a gauge saying "boost" in plain sight screams "steal me!". Dang that's impressive.
TonyJ 06-10-2004, 09:54 AM Extremely cool stuff...
Once you get the orange hose replaced with hard pipe, that's going to be perfect. Great idea with the gauges. I want to mount some stuff in the cassette holder like that too. What kind of material did you use for that cover- plastic? The texture looks pretty close...
Very nice setup and a very cool car. Must run like a raped ape...
a327vette 06-10-2004, 11:04 AM I think I may have to take the rest of the day off and go home and cry next to my supercharged Z:(
Damn, that is sweet!
T/A lt1 06-10-2004, 06:52 PM How much for you to build a replica to that turbo kit? Just take all the piping, manifolds and turbos and send me some just like them and i'll take care of the rest.:D Thats just plain sick looking and i would love to own it but I am sure I would break it quick. Awesome car man.
INTMD8 06-10-2004, 09:08 PM Thanks everyone :)
As far as the gauges, I just removed the heater vent, and used fiberglass filler to form the area for the gauges. After it was finished, I painted it with flat black paint and it blended in fairly well.
It is very difficult to work on. I dropped out the engine to install the system and put it up in the car as an assembly. I havn't changed the plugs since I first installed the system, but I can tell you the rear two plugs are not easy to get to. I could have high-mounted the turbos, but I felt that since I wanted to keep all the accessories, and minimize underhood heat, low mounting the turbos was the best option. (and they still gravity drain fine).
I used the stock K-member (which was notched/boxed slightly for the compressor housings), because I don't like the way the tubular stuff 'feels'. Out of all the f-body's I've driven, it seems like they really feel tighter going down the road with the stock components.
The car is not a daily driver, but I do drive it often and I have gotten stuck in the rain a few times. The only thing in the intercoolers was a few worms, but they hosed right off :).
97SS4KS 06-10-2004, 10:03 PM An excellent display of American hoursepower. A awsome car. OK Farrari's, get some.
