Advice on new susp..??

Hey guys...

I just got new tires put on my car... turns out they're low pro's though (I didn't really want lo-pros). Anyhow, the tires are nice & dandy, but now the car looks goofy.

Suggestions?

How many inches should I lower it?
What type of susp should I have put in?
Where should I get the work done?

Help would be much appreciated.

do you just want to lower it for looks?
are you planning to drag or autocross?

As for the size, I bought 245/45 R16's. Looks, yes. I'm also concerned about performance.

I like to keep it around a few hundred.

I was just outside taking a look at my car and figured that 1"-2" would be good. Does this sound about right? Perhaps I'll take pics tomorrow. I'd like some experienced opinions.

Can you shoot us some pics ? What kind of driving do you do ??

I get the feeling a pro kit might be a good choice for you . . its a great around town spring kit that wont kill your ride and will give you about 1.5 inch drop. "Kaos" from the board was selling one for a really good deal . . . .

If your into performance pick up a G2 kit or a ground control system . . . .

Do it yourself , its easy as pie :)

Amit also has a set of SLP 1" 1LE lowering springs he may be selling. . . .

I beleive 260 cdn new in box .

you can do a Q&D lowering of the rear by removing the rubber seat on the top of the springs and sliding a piece of hose on the top spring coil. No easy solution for the fromts.

The pro kit is nice and popular - depending on the age of your shocks you may want to replace them as well - that gets a bit more expensive and a nice set of shocks (eg bilsteins) can set you back ~$700

That set up would get you a very nice look and feel to the car and would work for any extracurricular driving you may want to do. of course if you want to get hardcore you can spend a few grand on a fully adjustable spring and shock setup.

I'd also recommend doing it yourself - it's fairly easy - the rear is a snap and the fronts require renting a spring compresser but that's no big deal.
