I have a 19901 Camaro RS 305 w/ 5 speed. I also put in a rear end from a 1993 Z28 that had posi traction and 3.23 gears if that matters.
I just replaced my clutch in the summer of 2001.
And the symptoms before the clutch went out that time, are different than this time. Before the clutch would slip at high speeds like 45-65pm.
This time my problem is 1st gear. I use to be able to get a nice take off, and spin the tires if I wanted (which I rarely do, but could if I wanted). But now I cant barely get the tires to chirp. At a take off, I’ll try do get a nice take of, but all I get is a revving engine and my car not going any where (well it goes, but very slowly). But once I get up to about 10 mph (or through an intersection) its back to normal. Its kind of like the clutch isn't catching for the first few seconds.
Would this be caused by a clutch going bad?
