ok let me explain what went wrong
the guy running 7's at 176 mph next to me was a bit of a distraction
i spun all the way through first then into second and missed third... ya that about sums it up for that run

again i was spinning tire in first and second but not so bad in second, i didn't miss third this time.... so

what can i do to get better times (learn how to drive i know) is thier anything you guys can tell me im doing wrong that i reallly really need to fix

Get some slicks. Street tires will never get you good traction.

From your reaction time I see you're waiting for the green light to come on before you go. Once you see the green light, you should already be moving. Launch when you see the last yellow light come on. By the time you and the car react you should close to a perfect reaction time. It takes practice.

Although a good reaction time won't affect your ET, it can win or lose a bracket race. Having a nice low RT also makes it look like you know what you're doing.

Get that 60' down, 2.5 is bad, shoot for 1.9-2.1 on street tires. Get a 2.0 and watch that E.T. drop like a rock.

Thats what I'm sayin, 14.3 with a 2.5 short time:eek:

I agree those 60 foot times are downright horrible. With a better launch and drag radials or slicks I see a 13.7 or so in your future. I'm surprised the track had you running against such a fast car....where I go they seperate the all out drag cars from the street cars. It just takes practice though......so good luck.

GOT ANY TIPS ON LAUNCHING A M6 CAR

i have tried and tried and i cna't seem to get it down. should i be burning alot of clutch off the line or should i find a spot that it just goes

Drag RAdials and a short throw shifter will help immensely. When my car was a stick I would feather the throttle around 1500 and count the bulbs so the throttle would be on the upswing when the third yellow lit and I would quickly release, not drop, the clutch. That cushioned the launch just enough so that if the track was decent I would hook. I also kept my heel on the brake so I could preload the driveline just enough to avoid dumping the rear except it would only last about 400 passes anyway.

Avoid shiny spots on the launch pad. Drag Radials and a shift are your friend. I used to use the BFG's but if I were going to try them today I would probably go for the new Mickey Thompsons if they are available in the right size.
