JZ 97 SS 1500 06-05-2004, 11:08 AM Hey guys some of you have wanted to see some pics of the LT1 kit laid out, I have some pictures of it below. Keep in mind, the turbo with the kit below is a 76GTS, not the PTE-88.

Grover 06-05-2004, 12:30 PM What is your estimate on power output if this kit was installed on 9:1 383 with a custom turbo cam?
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-05-2004, 01:32 PM Your limiting factor will be the turbo, the rest of the system will support all else. I don't see ~1000rwhp being a problem with a T88 and custom 4" DP. The largest DP offered with the kit right now is a 3".
Jose
RacinLT1 06-05-2004, 01:40 PM that setup looks killer. i might go for 1 after i get done playing with this all motor gig. did the nitrous thing, time for all motor, then boost.

What's the power limit on the 76GTS?
97ChameleonTA 06-05-2004, 05:01 PM Do you have a closer pic of just the headers? It's hard to tell how it mounts.
Thanks,
Marty
MEAN LT1 06-05-2004, 05:17 PM Isnt there an option for an intercooler as supposed to the air/water setup?.
Jason Dove 06-05-2004, 07:03 PM Last I heard they're still working on the intercooler setup.
5.0THIS 06-06-2004, 03:38 AM Looks very nice. Any idea of price and availability :)
Mystic95Z 06-06-2004, 12:01 PM Yeah, definatly looks good. I'd like to know pricing as well. Is it available now?
-Tony
Jason Dove 06-06-2004, 12:14 PM Umm... try checking the website:
http://66.70.20.245
(found via google) the old website www.proturbokits.com used to have a link that pointed to this website. But it seems the ptk dns entry isn't working properly, or the old server has been brought down.
Mystic95Z 06-06-2004, 01:01 PM Umm... Jose sells them for less than the list price on PTK's site I think.
Jason Dove 06-06-2004, 02:21 PM Ah, in that case check his site that's in his sig. It's on there too, and you're right it's cheaper than direct from ptk. ;)
SS Mark 06-06-2004, 02:48 PM What is all included in the Hot Parts? Is it everything but the IC and turbo?
-Mark
96TurboTA 06-06-2004, 03:27 PM guys the URL is www.proturbokits.net
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-06-2004, 09:04 PM Grover the 76GTS is good for about 950rwhp.
Marty, I will post some pictures I have of the headers tomm.
Their is possibly a large front mount air to air system coming ;). I am talking to PTK about it.
As for their website, they were having DNS problems with it, so Keith has the site up on www.proturbokits.net for now. Their are some new kits for the f-body's on the horizon. I plan to sell my version of the kit soon after I get the car going. My version is a little different. I have all larger piping, larger IC, and larger turbo then what is offered with the regular version. Once the kit is gone I will hopefully send the car down their for a full blown Race kit with large frame thumper (PT-94 or larger), but accessories will have to be deleted to get the monster to fit.
Hotparts, are the pass. side and driver side header, two sections of crossover pipe, and downpipe, as well as wastegate pipe.
Oh and btw, we do sell the kits, turbos a little cheaper ;)
Jose
96TurboTA 06-06-2004, 10:24 PM Jose, how does the crossover pipe route around the engine? Do you have to get rid of the AC compressor?
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-06-2004, 11:37 PM No, goes under the car, with the street kit nothing has to be deleted.
Jose
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-07-2004, 12:17 PM Here is a picture of the kit assembled.

Does that include AIR/EGR fittings and hoses? Massachusetts actually plugs into the ALDL port for inspections, so all emissions equipment has to be functional.
Terran2k 06-07-2004, 10:35 PM i was thinking of s/c my car, but i might go the ptk route, well in like a few months down the line when i do tranny/rear/engine to support it. then i'll decide
96TurboTA 06-08-2004, 12:05 AM Does it go under the kmember, or over it?
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-08-2004, 09:19 AM Josh those fittings can be added.
96TurboTA , it goes through the K-member. I would suggest an aftermarket K-member since you can run the larger downpipe that way and have plenty of clearence.
Jose
RealQuick 06-08-2004, 12:52 PM WHat kind of prices for an fbody kit???
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-08-2004, 01:35 PM The complete kit is $3270 minus the head unit.
Jose
Jason Dove 06-08-2004, 03:10 PM So Joe, do you know when the Air to Air kit is planned?

Cool! :thumb: As asked by Jason, any more info on a air-to-air setup?
how bout the hot parts to whatever u got "outlaw" kit maybe?
to the pte-88 and the 4" downpipe
where is the turbo mounted at ? can you email me some pics of your setup?
santore
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-08-2004, 10:22 PM We are working the details out for the air to air system. Hopefully will be offering the kit with that setup very soon. The intercooler will be somewhere around ~30" X ~13 X 3-3.5" core, that is enough to move about 1500cfm or ~1000hp.
Jose
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-08-2004, 10:24 PM Santore, they offer the headers the same as what I have currently. The downpipe would have to be custom made, and the parts could be furnished to you, but they don't have a jig for 4" DP's. The clearences are just to small. The rest of my kit difference was the intake piping was all 3" instead of the normal 2.5". Also my IC is larger then the standard kit by 20+ % and I am running the larger water tank system that sits up front.
Jose
got_hp? 06-08-2004, 11:08 PM ive seen plenty of cars making 700-800rwhp with 3-3.5" single exhaust on a turbo car.........you gotta be building one serious car to need a 4".
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-08-2004, 11:11 PM The mustang and Supra guys have made 900rwhp or more with a 3" single downpipe.

So the hot parts ptk has for the lt1 cars will hold the pte-88 in that location without clearance problems with anything?
santore
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-09-2004, 08:48 AM Yes, a PTE88 will bolt straight to the headers. The 3" Downpipe flange has to be modded from V-band to Donut flange, but any exhaust shop can do that in 5 minutes. I had mine done the same way.

Brady 06-09-2004, 08:53 AM Is your car running Jose? Mine is getting CLOSE.
http://teamprickracing.com/NvsS/Dsc00906.jpg
I've got the motor in the car now, should be fired up in a day or so.
Geoff Chadwick 06-09-2004, 09:19 AM Brady-
Every time I see that turbo I want to cry... it's beautiful! *sniff*
Got a really nice picture of the engine/turbo setup? I could use a new windows background. :D

*sigh*..........such a beautiful thing............you havent posted updates in quite awhile, i was wondering how close you were getting.
btw, not sure if you ever posted it or not, but whats the basic rundown on the engine?
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-09-2004, 09:34 AM Brady I'm close, finally got my clutch in after a LONG wait. But looks like I maybe selling the system and going MUCH bigger, before I ever even crank the car up...lol. I am talking to PTK about building a Drag radial kit for my LT1. Anyhow, its nice to see you on the board, its been a while. You should have came to G8 this year...we had a good time.
Jose
Brady 06-09-2004, 11:49 AM Jose, I couldn't make G8- been working on the car hard. I read the board daily, just don't post too much ;)
The engine is a dart iron eagle block, BRC crank (3.550) carrillo rods (6.0) and Ross pistons (4.130). Static compression is 9.33:1.
18* trick flow heads, Cam Motion cam, Jesels etc. Victor 18* high port intake. 95mm throttle body. Sequential FAST 160# injectors. 94mm turbo, water/air intercooler. Fed by a pair of Weldon 2025's and dumped out through a 5" downpipe.
I've got to try to mount an alternator somewhere tonight, probably fire it tomorrow or Friday. Parachute install Saturday and the track Saturday night :D
OUTCAST 06-10-2004, 10:20 PM I love my ProTurbo kit. some bugs at first since it was the test car. But it works fine. Working with Jose and updating it. Going from a T-66 to T76GTS. Already have the bigger down pipe, cross over, and from down pipe to the regular exhaust. Going with the bigger water tank. Jose I will call you in the morning too.:D
JZ 97 SS 1500 06-11-2004, 12:00 AM Sounds good, I'll be waiting.
