Where do you guys have your aftermarket bypass valve mounted? I am currently running an ATI race bypass valve and have it mounted on my trickflow elbow. I was told that the bypass valve should be between the discharged side of the blower and the intercooler. The way I have mine setup it is after the intercooler. Thanks

I have mine after the intercooler.
SD Concepts (who fixed my tensioner problems) also thought I should move my BOV between the discharge tube of the blower and the intercooler, with the thought being that you will not be blowing medium hot air constantly through the intercooler......the other way to look at it is that if you have it before the intercooler the intercooler could get heat soaked (mine is a front mount) and the first blast of power is going to be hotter than it should be.
Just pulled the "way back" machine out and looked at an old picture of my install as detailed by the ATI manual and they have it after the intercooler.

I dont think theres a problem with your location. Ive seen many bov/bypass valves located on the hard intake elbow. But then again I ve also heard that the ideal location should be closer to the actual blower. i dont think either way is going to hurt you.

I an assuming you are still running the stock Bosch bypass valve.

IMO, I think it doesn't really matter.
However, the benefit of installing the bypass valve before an intercooler or aftercooler is that you don't have to waste their effort in cooling the charge and then sending it back to the supercharger where it will just get heated back up. Secondly, I think it will assure that whatever boost that will surge back to damage the SC will get bypass back downstream of the SC.
With this said, the instruction for the Vortech systems has the bypass valve installed after the aftercooler about a foot from the TB. That is where mine is sitting.
I have two pipes, one with the regular bypass valve and another with a HKS SSQ BOV (don't bother with a BOV). They both work well.

Correct. I have been to ungulfed in all the other lil problems to research BOV or bypass valves...
Is the stock one inadiquate or anything?

I believe the stock bypass valve is more than adequate for your setup. :)
