Tw!tchb!tch 05-30-2004, 06:06 PM I cant beleive they manage to screw absolutly everything up what a bunch of ball lickers. I had 35 % last year and should have 40 % or something this year or atleast 35 % again and she says I have 25 % . Im like WTF 25 % you dumb **** . So now I have to bitch out icbc for being ****tarded !!!
now I have no plates and its sunny **hmmph**
Pandamonkey 05-30-2004, 06:23 PM Did they roll you back for an accident you were in a while back?
They tried that crap with me two years ago.
I have enjoyed 40% off for the majority of my driving years.
All of a sudden they told me when I'm about to insure my Camaro that I'm at 5%.
What the hell - you may ask?
Aparently 12 years ago when a person got in an accident where you were driving someone else's car - they went after the person who the insurance was in the name of. Not the person who was driving.
I crashed my parents car when I was 16, they penalized my father for it - whom I paid back.
They never said a word to me about it.
Twelve years later it shows in their records that I was involved in an accident where I didn't get penalized - so they retroactively attempted to ding me.
I was extremely upset and managed to get my 40% back after conveying my anger to the correct person in power at Icky Bicky.
They are crooks.
Can you fight it?

The same thing happened to me. They went back after 3 years and told me that they were taking my discount away. I was in my pops car and got in an accident and nobody paid so they went back and got me when I tried to insure my first vehicle. If they dont get you one way they will get you another way. They got almost all of us by the BALLS
Camaro ChriSS 05-30-2004, 07:40 PM Holy crap that sounds brutal! Let us know what you discover.
Tw!tchb!tch 05-30-2004, 07:56 PM When I was 16 I was in an accedent im my dads car and they took his roadstar ( free accident ) to cover it. . . nothing since then. I will phone and raise hell tomorow these guys are unreal
bunker 05-30-2004, 09:04 PM Thats normal, ICBC does that all the time, I have 30% discount but every time I come in it comes up as 20%, all you have to do is tell them to call ICBC & they correct it over the phone. Unfortunetly, next time you go back it'll be the same BULL$HIT, they'll have to call in & change it again, thats why I have a friend at the insurance agency that automatically knows what to do when I come get insurance & with my paperwork & their database they keep track of my discounts.

I can picture what the agent is thinking...
"Oh-oh. Here comes Matt again. Quick, everyone look busy!" :)
Tw!tchb!tch 05-31-2004, 02:40 PM Ok I just got back in there again today and she says my accident back from 97 attached in my camaro was attached to my dads truck, than when transfered to me suddenly effected my rates. Since the truck is uninsured it now affects my Ta or the next vehicle I ensure . . . How the **** I dunno as the accedent was in my old camaro what a bunch of jack offs.
Anyways . . . . Im not paying that **** so I have a couple corses of action . . . I can have my dad file the transfers back for the truck ( there already filled out ) , re-insure it and then insure my Ta ,then cancell the insurance on the truck. This doesnt effect his insurance at all as it goes back againsed his free accident err whatever but still coss me money in all the screwing around. Either that or insure it myself and cancell it after the ta is insured which also is a pita and costs me $$$ and Ill still have this looming over me next time . . .
Anybody have any other ideas ??
sideways_Into_3rd 05-31-2004, 02:54 PM thats the same sticky situation i was stuck in
i just got my dad to reinsure his car and take the blame, he was at 43% discount, his went back upto 5% i think .. i would have been at 350% surcharge .. now after i pulled another trick on icbc im insuring the white one at 35% discount
but your other trick works as well . just have your dad insure somecar, any car, you insure the TA, then your dad cancels it .. same thing everyyear
also, if your dad didnt even have a free accident, insuring the truck for a day would not ever affect his own insurance, his own insurance will never go up unless he cancels the plates he has and gets a new policy
Tw!tchb!tch 05-31-2004, 04:47 PM Good info thanks man !!
I give this a try tomorow and see how it goes. . .
Camaro ChriSS 05-31-2004, 06:07 PM Normally I don't like screwing an insurance company like this. Personally, I think everyone should pay their own way and if they can't afford the insurance when their young, then they don't buy a car with expensive insurance. Thats what I had to do. And its scams like that that just cost me more everytime I insure.
HOWEVER, having said that, I don't think Dave's situation is fair to him, IMO. I mean, if the accident happened 7 Years ago and was handled then through his dad's insurance, that should be the end. 7 years is really reaching back unfairly. Especially if they never inform you that this is a possibility.
Now if it had happened last year, then I wouldn't feel sorry for you. You screw up, you pay. :)
Tw!tchb!tch 06-01-2004, 08:28 PM All fixed . . . thanks for the help guys.
I hear ya man they did the same thing to me.
Basically in the end they get twice as much money for one accident greedy pigs.

so you think it is fair for me to be at a 350% surcharge because of 2 accidents 6 years ago, and a little love tap last year that caused nothing more than a paint chip in my front bumper ?
I wanna see you insure ur car with 350% surcharge ;)
dont feel bad for ICBC Chriss, only suckers give in and let big corporations bend them over and sing koombaya while lubing up their big scams and shoving them up their ass.

bunker 06-02-2004, 09:55 AM sticks on both, if you cancell your insurance the surcharge will go straight to your dad.

According to the broker the surcharge goes on the vehicles insurance not both like you mentioned . We switched the truck back and im 43% roadstar again as. They already took his insurance for the accident 7 years ago , when we transfered the truck to my name they tried to get me the rest. With the truck in his name even un insured it stays off me . It goes on his insurance as it was his insurance that covered the original accident. . . . they have received there fair settlement according to there own agreement . . . isnt that what insurance is for
I will bitch because I was rearended by some fossil who couldnt stop. Because I changed lanes and then stopped and he rearended me iCBC decided it worked best if we were both at fault . I didnt fight it at the time because it didnt cost us anything until now.
