How Much Compression in a Stock '90's 350?

Just wondering what the stock CR is on a stock '92 350 from a half-ton chevy truck. The short block is in great shape, but I am pulling the heads for a valve spring change (larger cam) and maybe a valve job. While I am at it I am going to surface/mill the heads alittle to make sure the heads are flat and gain alittle compression.

I was also planning on 0.020" thick head gasket (instead of the stock 0.040"??). I am looking to have at least 9.0:1 CR to make sure my new cam and motor are more than happy running on pump gas.

Thanks guys.

Stock is 9.3:1 for that engine, and it'll probably be close to 9.7:1 after you do those mods to it.

Wow, I figured it was more like 8.5:1. If it is really 9.3:1 I think I'll just stick to a .039" head gasket and surface the heads.
