I am taking my car to the track thursday. This is first time out since Spec stage III and ET Streets. Car is 94 Z28, 6-speed, 3.42 gear, ATI P600b 8# with headers and some other small stuff, stock internals. It ran 8.20 before on street tires and a slipping clutch. Hoping for high 7's without bustin the 7.5.

What do I need to do other than pray?

a 12 bolt or 9"

Seriously, ET streets with an M6 & stage 3 spec isnt a good combo on a stock 10 bolt. I ran with my stock 10 bolt with 4:10's for a while and was fine but that was with an SLP clutch (not a hard hitting clutch) and drag radials. I wouldnt run ET streets with an M6 and a clutch like yours. Best advise if you're going to do that is don't dump the clutch too hard, good luck.

Best thing to do is leave at idle if you are worried about breaking something.:D

preload the rear . thats what i do when racing my friends car. Heel toe your brake/gas. keep your brakedown firmly, then bring your engine up to the desired rpm(dont get to crazy) then let the clutch out till you feel a bite(preloads front suspension to). then wait for the light and go. It much easier on your rear then just poping the clutch.

edit: for some reason its never failed me and gives me sick short times.

I have a similar problem with my z28, I have an m6, and sometimes i can launch at 2 1/2 revs and take off perfectly, with that wonderful little chirp that lets you know you had a good launch. Other times I'll launch at a liitle under 2 and spin almost through second gear, its horrible.
