Do a web search for Al Corda. I don't think he has his own web site but he's a big racer with an 02 Firebird.

Other names to search for are

Dan Zrust
Thomas Rhoda
Shane Carr
Andrea McPherson

I'm sure there are many others. Search the NHRA archive for any A/FIA, B/FIA and C/FIA cars.

If your looking for LT1's, Bobby Warren and Woodro Josey are as good as they get. As a matter of fact Bobby Warren just won in Bristol TN a couple of weeks ago.

Bring lots of cash to the table if you want to run with the big dogs in either the LT-1 or the LS-1. Jack Matyas is also one of the killers with these cars, Woodro Josey as well. You can find and ask for info on Classracer (www.classracer.com) and Maries Stock/SuperStock Site (www.members3.boardhost.com/mariet327)

Still cheaper than running a Comp Eliminator car.

We have a local Super Stock car. An 87 Olds Calais running in GT/CA. The car looks so sweet all tubbed out with a 4 link. You open the hood to see a SBC sitting in there like it came from the factory but there's a lot of work involved in creating a front wheel drive car into RWD. The car still has full interior etc. His engine is probably worth more than my whole car is and he runs low 10's with it at altitude and runs in the 9's at sea level. Drop a milder street engine into the car and it would be cool to drive it on the street.

The biggest problem in this type of conversion is that they're not allowed to relocate the firewall. In order to move the engine as far back as possible for weight transfer, they remove the distributor and install a crank mounted distributor. I'm sure a RWD drive car like a third or fourth gen is done the same way.

Amy Faulk also runs a very competetive 4th gen it Stock Eliminator. Used to be an LT1 car, but I think she switched to an LS1.

there are lots of good quick Lt1 cars in stock eliminator.I took a long look at as I had run stock a number of years ago but the overall expense just didn't make sense for me.I spent a lot of time talking to Woodro Josey and Al Corda at the track and believe me the true performace difference in these cars is in the trick suspensions they run which can cost ten grand and more.If I remember correctly both run Holley ICT (individual cylinder timing) set ups which take lots of time to set up correctly.I built mine to run super street you don't have to deal with teardowns and all that fun stuff. But if you really want to do it I would buy somebodys car rather then try to build it from scratch even if it's just a roller it should be cheaper

There is an 02 Firebird A/FIA stocker for sale in the back of the most recent National Dragster. It says it's a national record and a proven national event winner.

I think, but I'm not sure,(so don't quote me)it belongs to Tom Rhoda. He currently holds the national speed record for A/FIA at 132.62 and used to hold the national E/T record at 10.21.

It can be had for 55 large!
