How to clean inside of rims

Well I just bought some used Enkei Winsome wheels from some on this board and the inside of them are kinda dirty. What can I do to make it the cleanest it can be, I know that its impossible to keep the insides completey clean but I would like it to look as good as it can.

Thanks,
Mark

A soft scrub brush, soap and water! Only for the inside, not the outside!!

A good, soft wheel brush works for the inside: http://waxdepot.safeshopper.com/21/84.htm?322

Also, when the insides become really dirty I'll sometimes use Meguiar's Gold Class Wheel Cleaner. This could be considered an abrasive because the solution is ultra strong and it even says on the bottole it's not safe for all wheels. I believe it's acid based, but could be wrong. A quick squirt, let it set about 45 seconds and a light scrubbing and it's clean. Eagle One makes a cleaner that works OK too, and is supposedly milder called A2Z. It's been reformulated and now looks orange. I don't use these harsh cleaners frequently though. The brush and some soapy water usually works, unless there's a lot of buildup.

Now, for the outside it's strictly soap, water, and a wash mitt!

Hey guys allow me to explain what I use to clean the chrome wheels on my Camaro.... and it is inexpensive.

First and foremost I use Simple Green; no harsh acid based cleaners. Then the ticket for me is to use a toilet brush.... don't laugh.

You can pick up cotton mop toilet brushes real cheap, almost anywhere. They have a long handle to reach deep inside the wheel and the cotton mop is gentle on the finish. They confrom to any restriction, such as brake calipers, and even allow me to get behind the spokes.

Tip: Don't use the one out of the master bath, and don't use the one from your car in the master bath. Wive's have a tendency to loose their sense of humor when somehing like this happens.

Anyway, they work for me.... and they are inexpensive.

I use a worn out green scrubby pad and it works fine. IT'S the INSIDE of the wheel! Don't worry too much about fine scratches too much. A worn green scrubby doesn't leave scratches anyway.

If you just want to get them as clean as you can you could clay bar them.

Alot of trouble but it will work. If they are still off the car it is simple.
