couple of general mod questions

first of all, i have an aftermarket warranty, and i know modding can void a warranty, but i also bought the car at 56k miles, and i could just say that the car had mods when i bought it, but are there any mods i shouldn't do just b/c of the warranty?

secondly, my 99 TA is stock, and i am planning on maybe a few mods this summer, once i get some money after selling my old car. what mods do u guys think i should start with? intake and exhaust maybe?

If you keep the stock parts and something screws up you could always put them back on before you take it in to get fixed...not that I've ever done that or anything! As far as first mods I would go with the free mods plus a lid and a good flowing catback (no flowmaster). You can always do some suspension mods too. I would highly recommend subframe connectors.

the cheapest and most effective mod you could get would be a new air lid, slp has great ones. after that i would go with some LT headers and depending on how you want your car to sound a new exhaust or even an open Y-pipe.try and stick to the bolt ons before you crack those valve covers open. whatever you do start with that slp lid! you will notice a good top end difference.

Well I would do lid-filter($150), FRA (free), cat-back($260-$700, SFC's($135-$200) and a stall 3000-3800($450-$850) and trans cooler($100??), that will have you well into the 12's for possibly $1500ish:D

There is nothing wrong with flowmasters...mostly just a myth. They dont increase performance but they dont decrease it and if they do decrease performance its so minimal it would hardly show up on charts/graphs and definately not SOTP. My set up is perfect: Flowtech LT, ORY, 3" Cutout, Flowmaster 80 series!!

even if my flowmaster doesnt gain any performance, I sure love the sound of it!

I wouldnt trade my flowmaster for even 10 HP across the board

I to love the sound. If you are worried about HP, get an electric cut-out, problem is what the warranty people would think of that.

Sub Frame Connectors have always been said to be the best 1st mod. I have them (along with a warranty to) and I wouldn't think any warranty issues could be pointed. Damned big difference to :)

not really in the market for any right now, just curious as to what you chose and if it works for you...I saw you were pleased with them
