ET streets worth it.

I got a 9" installed and now want to get some sticky tires. I tryed Hossier QTP last year with stock 10 bolt and 3:73 gears and spun them through third gear.

A buddy suggested Hoosier slicks and everyone else says ET street. Plus i can get a good price on ET streets $320.

One problem is size. I will be using salad shooters 16x8

Are ET streets sticky enough?

You spun Hoosier QTP's through third with 3.73's with no more power than you have? Something is wrong with this picture! I've had et streets and they suck compared to QTP's. You can see my times in my sig and they were with 26x11.5x15 QTP's,now I'm running 27x11.5x15's. I see that your running a 4.33 gear, WOW, so you'll probably need 27 or 28in tires, and whatever you were doing to spin through third, changing tires won't help the matter. It sounds like you need suspension work or the track prep was nonexistent. Trust me, stick with the QTP's, put tubes in them, and run around 15psi in them and if your suspension is working and the track is prepped it should hook. Oh ya, make sure to do a good burnout, and the 26in QTP's are for sale and only have around 15 passes on them, I'll take $275 shipped.

I have run MT and Hoosier slicks as well as ET Streets and the QTP and haven't found a big difference between them. I am currently using the 27x11.5x15" QTP and even with over 800rwhp I a not "spinning them therough third gear". So, as rje suggests, "something is wrong with this picture".

The QTP and the ET Street are every identical to their "slick" counterparts except for the DOT grooves in the tread.

yes with the QTP i did get a slight slip going into third but i have to admit my suspention was not setup for the 1/4. I have done some work to get the weight tranfer better to the back. I think my lowering springs will be the big difference in the traction ( i took them off). Plus i cannot remember what the track condition was like for that time i posted but i has been said the track i was at is known for crappy traction. They don't prep for test and tune. Cheap bastards

I'll vouch for the ET streets. My first three runs ever with these tires were all 1.9 60ft times. Car would skip sideways into 2nd though a little at the track.

p.s. they are mounted on salad shooter rims as well. 26x10.5x16
