I have seen it done.. Brand new 2001 M6 at the track. He was running 13.5's on a hot night... Huge slicks too..

So do it.. I dont think that you are makign enough power to really trash it.. But ya never know.. you may hear stories to the contrary.,.

I am getting BF Goodrich DR's in the 255 or 245 size for the 16's. That should do my stock engine some good...

Hi rpm drops tear the center section out of the clutch. Seen at least 3 die in 6 months.
Had 10 bolt rear for about 1 1/2 years cars best 11.20 w/11.5' quick times.
Rear started leaking at the tube/housing. mosier 12 bolt fixed that.
If it was my car I would race w/slicks every time I could. I'd just be careful on launch.

I know of at least one guy who cracked his housing in a bone stock (other than a shifter) on ET Streets.

I'll let you know soon....

I have added a T/A cover with the stud kit for some extra protection. We'll see what happens with the rear, MT ET Streets and 150shot N02.

If it blows then I have a good excuse to get a 12 bolt!

I should also point out that mangleage is dependent on traction, and how hard you launch and shift.

ET Streets do not guarantee traction from above. The track I go to usualy sucks. I have seen people run nittos, then switch to ET Streets, and get no better traction. This is same day, back to back runs.

also allt he traction in the world isnt gonna hurt much if you launch at 1200 RPM and granny shift, This is an exageration obviously, but I think you know what I'm saying.

i cant believe anyone would say do that on stock 10-bolt with M6...DONT do that! very bad idea...for every one guy that gets away with it for a bit, theres 10x that amount that bust it. is it really worth shelling out 2k for?

if he wants to run ET Streets on a good track with high RPM launches, hes gonna have to spend it sooner or later..

I spent 1500 just to run DR's, and yes, it was worth it. Peace of mind alone is worth it to me. I would have done it with street tires.
