Input/ help required

Took the car( '87 iroc 350 tpi) to the rolling road 2 years ago. Mods were no cat,cat back, Y pipe, Hypertech street runner chip, Accel module- dizzy cap and Kand N's.
It put down 236hp and 316 lb ft.

Went today. Mods now- as above plus-
52mm t/ body
Edelbrock runners/ intake
TFS heads
Rller/ rockers
Adj. fuel pressure reg set at 48psi
Edelbrock headers

Result 256hp and 323 lb ft :mad:

So, what have I done wrong?. It 'feels' stronger mid range now. The peak power is at about the same rpm.
Tell me I'm a sucker for not putting a new cam in it if you wish, but would that really wake it up?. I was looking for about 280-290 so you can imagine I'm a bit p*ssed about it.

Any comments/ insults/ idea's all welcome.

You've already answered your own question. Your engine is nothing but a big air pump. You've improved the intake and the exhaust but the cam. is the same.

That's it exactly. You have the intake tract and the exhaust set up to support more flow, and good heads to make the power, but the valves are still only letting the stock amount of air and fuel into the cylinders. Cam it and be amazed!!!!



Also ditch the HyperJunk and have a custom chip done....that'll make a big difference as well.
