Okay my dad and I have been debating on this for about a month. Will my hooker 2460 comp series headers bolt up to my factory exhaust system with no problems or will I have to get a custom Y-Pipe? Please help me answer this question that way I can do what I need to do to have these things installed. Thanks guys.....

They will probably require a custom pipe unless they are designed to bolt up to the factory exhaust. You could always measure and compare them to the factory manifolds. :)

If i'm going to get a custom pipe I might as well go true dual? How much do you think it would cost me to have that done?

If you've already got a good cat back then just have a y pipe made. Not many shops can/will do a true custom dual exhaust setup on 3rd and 4th gen cars.

It cost right at $200. for mine, and I supplied the mufflers...followed the factory routing and mufflers in Corvette location..

I don't have a Cat Back System on my car yet.....wish I did. If I have to get a custom Y-Pipe made just about how much is that going to run me?

I'm not sure off hand, but a y pipe shouldn't be more than $150 or so. On my old 77 Z28, I paid $250 for a 3" exhaust with mufflers that were dumped right behind the mufflers. :)

Having a Y made shouldn't cost much. When I put the headers in my '91 I drove it to the exhaust shop and said "do everything else." David fabbed a Y-pipe, installed an O2 fitting, ran 3" stainless pipe all the way back and provided an 80 series Flowmaster all for $300.

Yeah...about 6 miles through a residential area at 7:15 on the Thursday morning before last year's Gathering. Think I woke anybody up? :D :D

I imagine you woke the dead LOL I was pondering doing this when I have my hooker cat-back finally installed but I have to drive about 60 miles so I'll prolly rent a trailer or pay a wrecker.

Yeah.....that kind of distance I'd prolly trailer it. I was just driving right down the street so it wasn't a big deal.
