I've got an electric water pump motor, and a complete housing for my LT1.... Now I just need to get the old pump shaft and bearing assembly out of it. Its the CSI pump.

Directions say to "press" it out ... and that "any local shop should be able to do this" ... Apparently where they are at, those are easier to find. I called the places near my house in Waterford and found 1 guy out of a dozen who even understood what a press was, and why I needed it. BUT he couldnt help me.

So does anyone know a place in the Metro area that I can take it to, and get it pressed out, so I can get my car back together??? I have to believe that someone on here knows someone who can do it......... ?

Thanks!

If you can't find anyone in your area send it to me and I'll press them out for you at work. The heavy equipment building on campus has everything needed. Or you could drive all the way up here I guess....doubt you'd wanna do that though.;)

You do not need to "press" it out. The shaft and bearing tap right out with a hammer and punch.
If you beat on it, your hitting the wrong side. If I remember right drive the shaft out from the impeller side. It will come out easier then you think.....
Search the LT1 board for a installation guide. Jay
