Rematch!

Ok, now earlier this year I posted about this kid who had this "heavily" modded GTI that was suppose to be the fastest thing at our school, well I beat that, so I have the title... Well he sold that and bought a 1992 Galant AWD Turbo'd.... Well once again he is wanting the title of fastest car at school... He has told me that when he bought it, it had some turbo work done and a bunch of other things.... Everyone I've talked to so far says this thing will destroy me... Yesterday I was talking to a buddy of mine that has one of the fastests cars in the county right now (a SRT-4), and he said I shouldnt have any problem beating it, he said it may be quick, but I should win..... What do you all think?

Is your car stock? Anyway, don't worry about it just race him. You could lose the title (doubt it) but at least you won't look like a Pu$$y for backing down. More than likely his "turbo work" never occured, he's just trying to scare ya.

I don't know why I have never got this coveted title. I have the fastest car in school and I haven't gotten a belt or anything yet :cry: . Just messin with you man ;) . I would also like to know if your car is stock. Just remember don't let him fool you into racing a short 1/8 mile race because that would be to his advantage. Make sure it is a full 1/4 mile and just because you don't get him off the launch doesn't mean you wont win so don't give up. Good luck.

Those AWD Galants can be quick and tuff to beat.
I saw one at the track once and this middle aged oriental gent owned it. He had a trick custom 3" exhaust that ran the length of his car straight back. His turbo was upgraded and some other mods but for some wierd reason, he had trouble off the line. He was only running high 13s at best.

As said previously, just race him and do the best you can. Be safe !!!;) ;)

Yea my car is stock. Time to go find him and see what happens:D, but of course in a safe place!

My Galant ran 8.8 @ 77 in the 1/8th with bleeder valve. Stock everything else with 120k miles on the clock. Fun car, weird styling, extremely high build quality, bulletproof chassis since it was designed for rally racing.

Like any other car out there, it can be as slow as stock (roughly 15.50s in the 1/4) or as fast as you care to go:

That must be one slow school to have a stock LT1 as the fastest car....

Well there's not a lot of car people there... Theres maybe 5 or so people there that have cars that are modded in any way, most are the hondas w/ the fart cans on the back....

Dang my school has a lot more then that and we only have 1000 people at the school. 9-12 grades. There is a guy with an STI but he can't drive it (no license) so we don't count it as a car at school. So for now it is a 2000 GT mustang with bolt-ons but it will be me when I get my car fixed and the shorties, y-pipe, and LT4 KM on.

In my senior year of high school only 2 or 3 people had cars, out of a class of about 60. Thats mainly because they were one of the few old enough to have a licence. (I graduated at 16 and in the Bahamas u get your permit at 17 and lisence at 18)

What's so surprizing about having a stock LT1 as the fastest car? Not many 16-18 year olds (age in which you're in highschool and with your license) who have something much better. My fairly stock LT1 is by far the fastest car at my school. However last year there was an 03 Cobra I believe... I can't say for sure.. he dressed it up and re badged it as a Cobra R.. but it does have a supercharger...

Anyway.. back on topic. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Everyone will tell you that you will get killed blah, blah, blah.. they say that because they don't know any better. They figure "tubocharged" it's gunna win.. and I bet very few know much about LT1's. I have people tell me that stock 89 5.0's will walk all over me :rolleyes:

I think it's kind of sad that the fastest car in the county is a SRT-4.

Well back to the topic, people are telling me that from 85 and on, I should have him, but before then he should have no problem... I'm not sure what all he said was done to it, but he himself hasnt done anything to it, he bought it modd'ed...

You won't know until you run him. I think you'll be just fine. ;)

Kids at my school say the same crap to me..blah blah can beat you you should race him..most of the cars they tell me to race arent even worth it..since im not a kid that does burnouts at every corner to try to impress everyone they don't think they f-bodies are quick..;)

Why on earth would someone buy their highschool kid an STI ??!! That's crazy. I'm 21 and my LT-1 with bolt ons is enough to get me in trouble.

To be honest, I think an STI would be easier for a high school kid to control due to the AWD. I wouldn't give my son an LT1 for his first car. :no: With the LT1 torque and RWD, it's too easy to snap the rear end loose.

Im 18 and my first car was my Camaro..... Sure I show off every so often, but i know when and where to show off and not to be an idiot in it...

Where has time gone? When I was in high school in the late 80's, the fastest cars in school were "Cudas, Camaro's, Chevelle's, etc. These cars were runnin' 12's. Fart cans didn't exist, if there was one... it wasn't taken seriously at all! My first car was a puke green Challenger with a 440. Those were the days!!! :bow:

Thats what I was thinking to. When I was in school we had turbo imports, built ponies, and some f bodies. All were pretty quick. At that time I didnt have my car but there were still plenty of fast ones there.

school's almost out, are you going to race him???

haha hes been showing off too much and destroyed his clutch and did something to his turbo.... It hasnt been at school for the past week

Im also 16 and a sophmore in a highschool with 2000+ people and i have the fasest car at my school ( 97 t/a ). the only mods i have are cut out, intake, u/d pulley and nitto's.

I did have a run with the supposed fastest car at school (newer civic with a body kit ) and i smoked him, after everyone claimed he would own me.

I chew imports and sh!t honda's in my camaro. I'll never fear the rice, no matter what.

Doesn't mean to say i have no respect for them though :D

Dont ever come here then. You will get a reality check when all you see is the back of an import pulling off on you. Not saying that all of them here are quick but there are several that are just nasty as hell.

I am not as optimistic as everyone else. The car you want to race is 4G63T, and it has turbo work done to it amongst other things, easily runs 13s. You need SS R/A or Exhaust to compete, my friend.

I enjoy having the fastest car at school.....and i have the referrals to prove it.

#1) burnout-detention
#2) doughnuts-referral
#3) 55 in the parking lot-3 days in school suspension

Wow you are a dumbass! congrads on all those detentions, what a way to show off! :o So anyways, what does referrals have to prove anything about having the fastest car in school? 03 GT's do it all the time in my school and they sure as hell arent the fastest cars in my school. See people with fast cars know they are fast and dont have to prove it to other kids. So keep doing your little burnouts and doughnuts in the parking lot and then hit a car, bet you wont being doing those any longer.:rolleyes:

Did anyone else have highschools like that where they got on your ass?

When I went to HS ricers were doing 40mph in a very small lot, gunning it every chance they got. Few massive burnouts, nothing was issued. I got yelled at twice for a turn and some other minor bs, but they don't discipline the others.

On the day of graduation rehearsal last year me and several other cars had a burnout contest. It appeared that the school was on fire there was that much smoke....nobody seemed to care. Most people took it easy in the parking lot though.
