All and all a good day. Ran a new best 12.9 probably would have ran better if I had not lifted to try and avoid breaking out. Finished second in the f-body shoot out because I still broke out. :(
The big bonus is the wife enjoyed it. :D

Rolled out there had a good time but left a little bit of the clutch at the starting line on the first pass so i babied it the rest of the day then stopped after three runs. Looking for a new clutch now

Thanks Mark. Maybe she will not complain about the mod money now. :)
I think with some cooler air a 12.6 is not out of the possibility. I would have easily pulled a 12.7-12.8 on the last run.
Hats off to Rockingham though, I thought the track prep and conditions were fantastic.

Track should be great. It was re-paved again this year. Second time in 2 years. Must be the last time wasn't so good and Steve had it done over.
NHRA Pro Stock champ Greg Anderson tested there last Tuesday before the race in Atlanta this past weekend. He said Rockingham is better than any of the other tracks in the area - Bristol, Atlanta, Darlington, etc. Glad to see Steve is getting it back to where it used to be. When Rockingham used to have the NHRA Winston Invitational, Warren Johnson said it was the best track he'd ever raced on :D But things change.....

I talked to them a bit when picking up my trophy. They were still upset over the GMMOC turnout. :) He really wants more GM cars there. They had a good turnout yesterday.
I think they should do a battle of the clubs/boards. SCF&Y, CFB, GMMOC, etc. Run a couple of classes and then the fastest qualifiers from each of the clubs square off against each other.
Congrads on the runnerup spot. I was so hot that I didn't care if I raced or not. I was just glad when it was over, and besides my car was doing the opposite of what I thought it should be doing. Instead of slowing down from rd to rd in 90 deg heat, it just kept getting faster. I ran my quailifying run of 11.85 in the morning and after several runs in other classes it still broke out with a 11.83 on the brakes in the semis of the f body shootout. It did bother me to bad since I had raced the night before in trophy. Hey Mark, I've won all three of the trophy races I've entered this year and have moved to within 1pt of first place in the points, but now I'm going to take the summer months off from racing and then come back for the next pts race in Aug. Maybe I'll see you at one.

Thanks. My car kept wanting to run better and better also.
Good luck on the trophy class points.
