1" or 1.5" drop?

I am trying to decide how far to drop my car. I always see lowered F-bods but I never know exactly how far they have been dropped or which kit they are using. Measuring the gap it appears id need almost a 2" kit but I am sure that will never work with the roads around here so imagining which springs i need is a little deceiving. If someone could just post some pics to help me decide that would be awesome!

Looks/Improved Handling = 2"

Best Handling/Less Hassle = 1" to 1.5"

I love simple math. :D

I have seen a car that I know was dropped at least 2" and that is WAY too much for me. That is why my decision is between 1" and 1.5"... Im just trying to decide if you could even tell a car was lowered 1" versus 1.5 or 2".

If you do a search in appearance, you will find tons of pics. But the easiest way to tell is the the fender gap.

the SLP drop is about 1.2" and hte prokit is 1.6"

its hard to tell the difference.

EDIT:
those numbers dont look right to me now.... someone wanna kick start my thought.

At what point do you need to install relocate brackets and adj pan bar and such?1" fine,105" still ok w/out the extra cost of sus parts, or if I dont do right away, am I ok for now? I want to lower my car some now for handling and looks. I'll put pics up soon when I fig out how, but just installed black Z06 rims w/ 2885/40/17 on all corners! 1 bab as* look, but need to reduce the gap!

Oh, what kind of spring rates do the dif co have for the springs? I want to lower 1"-1.5" but want a stiff spring for autox racing. The "big" co dont give the rates for the springs.

Spring rates & tons of spring info: http://www.angelfire.com/my/fastcar/suspension.html

And for a 1-1.5'' drop

DMS, BMR, SLP Eibachs, and Eibach Prokit (~1.5'') are some of your best choices. There are a few more I think. From my reading so far, sounds like the spring & damper combo is KEY if you want safe & improved handling.

ask Sam @ http://www.stranoparts.com

lastly, the Search on this site & on ls1.com will give you tons of info, advice, and pix :D
