AC problem.....need schematic.

k guys this is my problem. After I put my motor in I went and recharged the AC. Got a new evaporator and all. It worked fine for a couple months then it started to go. It would work fine then it would stop blowing cold for a lil while then kick back on again. Little by little the gap became larger before it kick on again until finally now it doesnt work at all. Went to the AC shop today (friends) and he tested it. For some reason there is no power going to the Compressor. He hot wired the compressor and the AC worked fine. Checked all the fuses and they are fine also. Thinking its an electrical problem. He told me that they might have to order a schematic which costs some dollars.

If anyone has had or knows my problem that would be great. If anyone has a schematic of the AC electrical (if thats all I need) or the whole electrical schematic than that would be great also.

it sounds like you have a leak. with little freon the pressure switch will signal the PCM NOT to ground the compressor relay so thats probably what is not alowing power to it. jumping the compressor directly is not a good idea and yes it can still get cool when it;s under charged. in fact it gets REAL cold around 10-20 PSI on the low side but this is also when thigs start to freeze up. Have the pressure checked, sounds like a leak..

Another thing to look at is the compressor relay. Didn't happen on my T/A but my wifes Monte Carlo. Is your compressor turning on? How are the pressures? Did he check pressure while he "hot wired the compressor".

If it runs great sometimes my guess is the relay.

is the a/c compressor kicking on and off...if not its probable the clutch cycling switch... located on the pass side on the a/c line .. it looks like a sending unit with a 2 wire plug in....

It used to kick on and off. Now it just doesn't kick on at all. When "hot wiring" it the pressure was fine.

well. if the pressure was indeed fine IE 35-45 low side and 200-250 high side.. then I would have to take a guess at the pressure switch being faulty. did the fans come on at all?

nope...no fans came on. They only came on when the compressor was hotwired.
