I just wanted to compile a list of current and future GM cars with the option of AWD .
Current
Vibe
sometime in 2004
Cadillac STS
SAAB 9-2x
Future
Pontiac G6
2008 CTS
SAAB 9-3??
anything else?
edit: updated list
Eric77TA 05-03-2004, 04:26 PM Saab 9-2X (the Saabaru) will be out in June.
I've heard that AWD Chevy Malibu is possibility.
johnsocal 05-03-2004, 05:01 PM The AWD Saturn Vue could qualify since its not made on a truck chassis and it has AWD instead of 4wd.
PacerX 05-03-2004, 05:26 PM I ended up behind an "STS4" on the road a week ago near Milford.
Looked tasty.
Needs more power. :D

shotgun 05-03-2004, 05:47 PM How about the Holden SSX concept? An ls1 powered awd four door, if they bring it to America I think it could really compete with the WRX, and win.

I LOVE that car and the hatch/bed thingy. That is awesome and I would love that choice when a baby appears in the future :)

No, that is just a guess at the year. New CTS should be 08-09.
Big Als Z 05-03-2004, 09:43 PM WRX and STi? They are a part of GM ya know.
Dont forget the CSV mini-vans... if you want to count them as cars?
and yeah, the Holden AWD LS1 powerd car.
Decromin 05-03-2004, 09:48 PM Zeta cars will have the AWD option - It'll just be up to the divisions
MissedShift 05-03-2004, 10:44 PM The Holden will never make it here becaus theres no market for an AWD performance 4 door.
;)
:p

If you can count the 9-2x, you can count the WRX and STi.
9-2x=WRX wagon.

But GM fully owns the SAAB brand they do not own the Subaru brand.

GM owns 20% of Fuji heavy industries, Subaru's parent company.

I thought is was 16%, close enough.
Either way, Subarus aren't built on GM platforms and I don't think GM has any say in Subarus cars, if they did then all the new Subarus would be built on GM platforms or use GM engines
formula79 05-04-2004, 02:48 PM 2007-2008 Camaro, G8/Grand Prix:D

at this point its purely an investment. GM has no voice at Fuji. But GM IS licencing/contracting Subaru's platforms.
think of it this way, if you hire a contractor to come in and build you a house, and you pay him for his services, do you OWN him? obviously not. but you might get a better deal if you invested in his company (hint hint)...
