Wheelhop, traction bars, and crappy springs

Alright, since putting my new engine in, I get ridiculous amounts of wheelhop at any given point in first gear.

Yes, I'd like to put on a set of slapper bars or SSM lift bars of course; however my springs are a bit worn, and the previous owner had installed a pair of those cheap helper springs.

I was just wondering if I'm really going to have to ditch that setup and get new springs to be compatible with any sort of traction device. On a VERY tight budget right now.

I would ditch those springs, and pick up a set from a junkyard (up to 81 will fit), and then get some good traction bars (SS or Competition Engineering, Carvert, Slide-a-link) whatever your budget can handle.

I swear by the Caltrac system. AWESOME traction.

Budget can't handle much at all. I'm just curious if a set of slapper bars will go on with the cheap helper springs in place.

I'm not TOO worried about the traction; if I hook up well I imagine I'd break the tranny. However, the wheelhop is annoying the crap out of me.
