UCF students: grades are posted

just an FYI: grades have been posted

not going to go over GPA's however ... :) lets just say this wasn't my best semister at UCF ... but i didn't fail so its all good

i didn't fail, but i need to retake financial accounting. since i'm already signed up for classes this summer and next fall, will they drop me from them?

this summer i'm taking micro, macro, and managerial.

next fall i'm taking cornerstone, managment of org, marketing, and intro to intl business.

i checked the summer schedule for financial and i can't reschedule my classes b/c the others are closed. i'm going to campus tomorrow to see what i need to do but if anyone knows off hand that would be cool. i checked my degree audit and it has a + for financial....? don't know why but it requires a "C" or better. i hope i don't get all screwed up b/c of this.

I did pretty good this semester...although, I could have always done a little better.

Predatorbird, let me know if you need help in any of those accounting classes....i pimped them. :cool:

Take Thornburg for Accounting. When I took it for the first time, there were some students in my class who were taking it for their 2nd time and said he was like 10x easier.

You'll probably have Hoon Park for Int'l Business, DO NOT show up late or he'll call you out real bad.:D

Dave Scrogin is good for micro and Kathie Holland is good for Cornerstone, I had both professors.

Do you think you have a decent grasp on financial accointing?


THen take thornburg, he is an easy teacher but I have heard he is not good. A good grasp on Financial accounting helps alot.

I took Chu, I think for managerial, he wasn't that bad, good teacher, not a cake class, but not hard, he was fair, but he is Korean and you had to reread questions twice as they were worded funny.

As a warning I am sure you know Cornerstone is a BIATCH! Stupidest class ever! Its not that its hard, I thought he Accounting classes were worse but, they just give you lots of work. My advice to you... First day of lab, at the end stand up and say, anyone interested in working hard and getting a good grade meet me after class. When the people come up and meet you talk to them about your group. A ****ty group, will hurt you in that class. I had 3 people do a crappy job, and me and 2 other bust our asses to get their work done. I am cool and don't expect people to go crazy and be pyschos on work, but these feckers were never around never came to any meetings, etc. If you get a bad member, tell the lab instructor from teh begining, just keep in contact and get other gorup members to help you. My teacher was pretty cool with this.

But for cornerstone, I mean its a decent class you learn some useful stuff but it coudl easily be a 3 credit hour cakewalk class and be just as useful, they just make it a 6 hour pain in the ass class to weed people out. I was stupid enough to take it with the "weed out MIS major class" as well, crappiest semester I have had at UCF. I would go on campus at noon work on stuff till 5pm, to use the computer I needed for my MIS class and go to work at 6- 3am, then do the same thing on sunday.


What time are you taking Man of Organ in the fall?


As for my grades... yeah I REALLY SCREWED UP THIS SEMESTER!

i think i started to get a grasp of it at the end of the course. the problem was w/ my teacher, it was his first time teaching here and his tests were always different. a couple tests were all definitions and others were all problems. i never knew how to prepare for them. the average of the class was failing so he said he was going to curve everyone's grade. i guess i was right below the middle to get stuck w/ a D.

i'm going to campus today to see what i need to do about my schedule. i need to see how i can fit in financial this summer or else drop on class in the fall and replace it w/ financial.

Don't take a negative stance towards Cornerstone.

All I heard was how tough, boring, stupid and useless that class is. I actually got something out of it and my team won the class competition. I learned a lot of things in that class that helped me in most of my other business classes I took.

Pay attention in lecture and take good notes, some tidbits will show up on the tests. Participate in the labs and ask questions.


I can honestly say two things about Cornerstone and Capstone:

1. It has stimulated my interest in business and I can read a Fortune or BusinessWeek magazine with almost the same interest as a car magazine.

2. They both gave me a nice edge over my co-workers. I guy I work with went to USF and they don't even have Cornerstone there. I can talk circles around this guy when it comes to business and know what my higher-ups are talking about.

These classes WILL get you ready for the business world.

Like I said, it's all what you want to get out of it.

Hoon Park was perhaps the worst teacher I had at UCF and that includes two that I helped get fired. He is near impossible to understand and despite a doctorate in English, still manages to write tests in broken English. I was late for a test once and he tried to act tough and yell me and a few other students. He claimed that no one would be allowed to take up a test if late, there were no make-ups ever, and the entire grade was based on three tests. He turned first to me and asked why I was late. I quickly ripped into him and flashed a speeding ticket from a UCF cop. I was just ready to start something if he turned me away from the test. I knew just who to go to in OSS and higher up departments to start stuff all over the place and know I looked at him with death in my eyes. He immediately backed down and asked other students why they were late. Despite the lack of excuses, he let us all in after that with barely a comment. As pissed off as I was, boy did I enjoy taking the wind out of his sails. UCF's all about the politics.

Who did you get fired?

The only professor that I thought needed to be fired at UCF was Jay Yurkiewicz. He was our Int'l Bus. professor in Fall '03 before Hoon Park took the class over. This guy complained that he just got hired by UCF this summer and had no time to make up a syllabus, lesson plan, etc. He spent about 2 weeks just BSing up on that stage in CSB101. Were you in that class?

Yeah, I'll admit parts of Park's tests were in broken English at times, but he wasn't that bad of a professor.

I didn't agree with Park acting like a hard ass in front of the students who came in late, that was totally uncalled for. For our final last Dec., this girl showed up late and he balled her out so hard that she was about to cry, I felt so bad for her that I felt like punting Hoon across the class like a little football.

Sorry to bring this old thread back up, but I'm new here at UCF, and my dad said he saw some of you were at UCF too. I don't know a whole lot about cars, but I'm hoping to learn... someday.

It's really awesome to see so many camaros, z28s, firebirds, and TAs here. I almost crapped myself. I love the F-body.

Any class advice would be welcome. I'm still in GenEd (just started actually), and want to go business/marketing and possibly go to law school afterwards.

I'm talking fluff classes now, Human Species and Strat. For Success, but fall will be harder. Professor advice would be especially welcome. Thanks alot guys (girls too?).

I just started UCF too, and was wondering if anyone on the board is taking summer classes. If so, where's everyone parking? I haven't seen anyones cars that I recognize out there yet, but then again, I drive straight from the back entrance to the north parking for only sociology :o .

I'm takning Human Species and Strategies for success, 8:00-9:50am, then 10:00-11:50am. They're both Moinday thru Thursday.

I'm in Hercules 110 right now, but will be in Lake Hall in the fall.

I was happy today... I parked next to a silver/bluish (hard to tell in a parking garage) Z28. Nice to know my car is in good company.
