IMO, leave it in OD. If you like having your engine rev'd up higher than it needs to be then, yeah, drive in D but otherwise IMO you should just leave it in OD and let the PCM do the shifting for you :D

Chances are you have 2.73's in your car, like most A4's got (3.23's were the upgrade option)...........anyway, I drive around in 3rd all the time, and see no problem doing so. Remember, until the 3rd-gens came out, all Camaros ever had were 3-speed automatics or 4-speed standards, none of which had over-drive (4th, 5th or 6th gears;)). Over-drive, or 4th gear in your car is simply for fuel economy on the highway. At any speed under ~60 mph, the engine is running well below 2000 rpm, and to try to accelerate from there, you may notice the engine lugging a little bit, vs keeping the tranny in 3rd, the revs will stay closer to 2000 rpm, and you'll get better, smoother acceleration from there. Even to cruise in 3rd at 60 mph is only around 2100 rpm, which is no different than cruising in 4th gear at 85 mph;). Hell, I'll keep the tranny in 3rd until ~80 sometimes;).

Cool:thumb:. Still, it won't affect whether you can cruise in 3rd or 4th, so use 3rd all you want;).
