4l60e 2nd gear start

hey guys, i called the place that rebuilt my tranny and they said its my computer thats causing it to do that, my car starts out in 2nd gear if i put it in D or OD, if im in park and put it in D or OD it will start out in 1st, but say if im slowing down and come to a stop at a stop sign or something it will start out at 2nd gear, some reason the computers not letting it downshift to 1st, why is this???? anyone have a similar problem?

Wow I was browsing and found this thread and it sounds so very similar to what my tranny is doing. It's a real pain at the drag strip when the tranny starts in second. If anyone knows help us out please!

I'm going back to the track after I get my E.T. streets on and I'm gonna try and put the tranny in park then in drive, after I do my burnout. Then see if that makes it start in first, Weird thing is it only does it after I've made like 2-3 runs. I started thinking it was my tranny overheating and my 30 min. between runs wasn't enough.

I have a 98 z28 if that matters any, I think we have the exact same tranny.

got my car scanned today, code 84 in the trans, 3-2 shift solenoid they said, and also the converter or something shakes and vibrates bad at like 1800 rpms, so im just gonna bring the car into the trans place again and tell them to fix it!!!
