i just finished switching out my white gauge bulbs for some red LED's. using i beleive it was Z28_Melissa's guide made it pretty easy to do. i have a few pics taken from my Camera phone of the gauges but no site to host the pics. if anyone is intersted in sharing some space id love to show em off. the lights just happen to go perfectly with my red and black interior;)

BTW if anyone is interested in an indiglow while face overlay (V6) that changes from blue to green please let me know. taking offers

yea i came to the conclusion that this digi is my new paper weight. but to answer your question, they are much brighter. but im still trying to see how to make my HVAC and light indicator light up red. havent looked into that much but wanting to do so in the future.

I know I have the same problem with mine they are hyper white leds and my digi cam can't take the pics well at night

how many LEDS does it take, and is the brightness consistent all over the gauges, or is some alluminum foil or some sort of reflective material a good idea?

With the inverted lense LEDS they are consistent all over the gauge face It's just our camera's don't take night pics well :(

You guys gotta trust me on this one they look good :D

yea they really do look good. i love these things.. im stuck on this red thing now. i got an off topic question to ask here. i got a white camaro and am throwing on ground affects. but i have the red/ black interior and accents on inside only. would underglows be too ricey? if not which would be better red or White?

Be easy, just asking, didnt say i was doing

If you have to do it white, but you would be getting more **** that a water sanitation worker about it...

what color are camaro guages standard??? ME, I'm sick of red, i want to go with blue lighting all over the interior

so id have to say no abuot the glows....lol i understand. it was iffy in the first place.

i feel old here. shoot i already forgot what they used to be? i wanna say black backround lighting up in white. but it has been almost a year since i have seen the normal gauges. before i switched to these led's i had some indiglo's, so sorry if thats not right:confused:

Camaro gauges have a blue plastic behind the numbers so they would light up more white with regular bulbs so when I put in hyper white instead of being more white they became more of a blue.

In your formula or T/A it has red plastic behind the numbers so it lights up red so your stuck with red sorry :( unless you wanna either get blue bulbs and make it purple or find out how to switch over to a camaro gauge cluster to get blue or you could get some reverse indiglo's

are you sure on that there is red behind the numbers??

Go buy some 3M clear double sided tape . The backing on that is a translucent bright red , very thin and peels right off .

Then

Peel off the Hvac overlay and the headlight overlay so you can see the backside , take the red film from the double sided tape and cover areas that light up white . After you peel off the overlays there enuff adhesive on them , the red film will stick where you want it and still have enuff left to re-install them . The backing is sticky as hell . It will then light up bright red and not look dim .

Pretty sure I read it on Macewen's website

On the guage faces for PONTIAC , the red is actually impregnated into the plastic face , PLUS it is silkscreened on back with a layer of red and thin layer of white

Camaro faces just have the light blue silkscreen with a thin layer of white over that .

so the only way to do it is to buy a new overlay which replaces the factory.. I know i've seen this somwhere, and it actually lights blue. Or can it be removed with some skill

Or use a 97 LT1 camaro cluster and get blue xenon bulbs , it may be cheaper than the alternative . It directly interchanges with the firebird cluster . A 97 cluster is the only Camaro cluster that will work in a 94-97 firebird because the LS1 clusters are calibrated differently and will not work right . The digital odo even works correctly in a 94-96 car , Ive had a 97 cluster in my 95 for a couple years now .

you gotta be kiddin me, i just ordered a new bezel and lens for my 95. i always wanted a digi odo too. since i just spent 51 bucks on that 10 mins ago, i guess i'll have to modify

ive never bought any double sided tape before therefore this may seem like a dumb question to some of you but, is there a certain brand of this that i should buy?

It's a joke.

I'm looking at pure black pictures with faint specks of red light. Kinda like deep sea fish might see just before being eaten...
