Mikie 04-26-2004, 10:49 AM Nice Vid , but slow as hell upload.
:(
busa413 04-26-2004, 11:06 AM yeah that part did suck!
cndctrdj 04-26-2004, 11:21 AM those are pretty fast vehicles
i wishj i had money to waste on the car so it would go fast too
busa1300 04-26-2004, 04:11 PM 240 Hp and 8 psi? Must be a kit thats dosn't lowwer the compression on the bike. I don't think I can run that small amount of boost on my kit. Wish I could find someone to play with on the E-way around here.
HeavyChevySS 04-26-2004, 05:38 PM cool vid, massive power there.
seems like the supra was having lower rpm problems or was he spinning tires?
busa413 04-26-2004, 05:41 PM they were both spinning tires. they are suppose to remach with the following changes.
Supra: Drag radials and spraying NOS
Hayabusa: Up the PSI on the Turbo from 8 PSI to 14PSI, drag tire and extended swingarm(he was having wheelie problems too).
CamaroGuy22 04-26-2004, 08:49 PM that bike was crazy fast
Zerocool 04-27-2004, 02:00 AM i love it.

LOL!! If the Busa really wants to hurt his feelings once he gets those mods, run him from a dead stop.
Even with both players doing upgrades, the nod still goes to the Busa...
Good vid! Lets see the rematch!:)

busa413 04-27-2004, 10:54 AM I'll post it when the vid comes out, but they said it will be a week or two.
I have a quetion, for you guys with the LS1 and LT1s what kind of money do you have to put into a your car to run up like 600 700 hp? Do these guys with Supras have to dump more money into their cars or is it cheaper for them. Just curious.
94SLUG 04-27-2004, 11:18 AM Supra did not sound to be runing right to me anyway. Nice vid dont think I want to race either of those guys.

From 8k to 25k depending upon a ton of variables. Dont forget a average supra will run you enough to buy 3 to 6 lt1 cars, and I can only imagine how much parts cost and or labor. Supras are very fast cars and tend to be high speed quens. One thing supra guys save a ton on is on short block, they dont require any upgrades to run that insane power.

Actually it depends on if he's talking about the whole car, or just the motor to make that much HP. You could do a nice forged 355/383 with low comp., get a D-1 Procharger, run 20-30 psi, and make some good #s for about 10k. But of course the rear would need to be to be replaced (another 2k), and most likely tranny upgrades would be needed as well (2-3k).
But I would say you could to the motor for around 10k. Obviously you COULD spend more if you wanted something insane/unstreetable...

hurricaine418 04-27-2004, 07:45 PM before i bought my ls1 i was looking to buy a supra already done up so i didnt have to dump the money in afterwards. found some thru e-bay starting at $35k w/ 500hp all the way to the one i got screwed on was $53k w/ 735rwhp.(twin turbo) didnt get it and bought the ls1 which i have no regrets on buying an american muscle car. bought the car for $17k used. dumped 7k in under the hood (twin turbo) didnt have it done right and cooked my turbos and rings. was at 545rwhp. back down to 330rwhp but will do it again the right way soon.
Mikey 97Z M6 04-27-2004, 11:34 PM Damn.... bet that bike is a handfull.

that sounds like it hurt the wallet! I hope you get that setup running right and get some impressive numbers to compete with these high HP Supras.
I would think a stroked LS-1 w/ heads & cam package along with a healthy shot of juice would be comparable.
450-500 rwhp + 250 shot would be cool if the bottom end would stay together..
yellavette 04-28-2004, 02:49 PM I guess it depends which route you take. Anyone can use NOS, so if you exclude that, I'd say the Supra is cheaper as you don't have to touch the engine internals or the tranny and rear end. I've had a 500+ rwhp supra and a 500 rwhp lt1 vette. You can bolt on a single turbo kit, plus front mount IC, and misc. fuel components and electrical crap for under $7k. I had about $12k in mods on my vette.

BeekDawg 04-30-2004, 10:13 AM Damn impressive, I would like to see the rematch!;)
Sax1031 04-30-2004, 11:39 PM An 800rwhp Supra would have its hands full with a stock busa much less a turbo one.
Is this race between friends, for money, or just some trash talking?
I have a video of a turbo busa on the dyno. At 11psi of boost it made 384whp/199wtq.

you still have to count the entry fee of getting a Supra, which is around $22-25k or even more. while it's only around $8k for an LS1 Fbody.
and doesn't it cost around $15k to setup a single turbo Supra with the fuel system and such? assuming all new parts. and if you don't do it yourself, labor is not cheap.
but i guess you mean 500rwhp for $7k is w/o the fuel system....but then why would you want a single turbo and the lag when you can do BPU+ and make 450rwhp on the stock twins and all bolt-ons?
white97z/28 05-08-2004, 12:13 AM The supra is bad alright, but when you go racing turbo busa's, something is not right....either your crazy or just wanting to race really bad. Hope the supra didn't put money down.
