wohooo! I can finally check out an autox event.

I looked at the mscc website, and I just want to make sure I've got everything. 1. as long as my car is in good shape mechanically and I have all my lug nuts I can compete?
2. I do not have to bring my own helmet I can borrow one there?

How far is Tavares? Do you guys meet somewhere and drive up together?

We CAN meet somewhere if you want.

It takes about an hour to get there from Altamonte/Longwood area.

Make sure your battery is securely fastened down too. You can borrow a helmet. Noprob.

I don't NEED to meet up before going I was just wondering if you guys normally got together for breakfast or anything before heading down there.

If not I printed up a map so I shouldn't have any problems finding it. I guess I will just see you guys there.

I will be the one in the stock looking red 97 TA who obviously doesn't know what he is doing.:D

ehh its still fun, I don't always do decent in my class but always have fun.

btw don't worry if you think you are in teh middle of no where and nothing but farm houses and orange groves are around :) Means you are going the right way...

But yeah with a map you shoudl be fine... only thing is I always take a right on a road I am supposed to take a left on...

I think I can make it in around 45 minute, from UCf, but I am right next to a 408 onramp, so I cruise at an above average speed and get their pretty quickly not much traffic at 7:30-8am on weekend mornings.

I do reccomend getting really early worht the loss of sleep to take your time figuring everything out, and walk the course once its up. Also gives you a little time in case you get lost.

Its a blast and well worth everything...

aslo as soon as they get the track up walk it as many times as you can, and at least 3 times... and visualize how you woudl do this full throttle in your car.

There is places to put stuff... but things to remember... Its florida, you will be outside for several hours in daylight. So if you think you woudl burn, sunscreen, hat... and if it rains, maybe some rain gear(not sure of the forcast. and they do run in wet conditions unlike drag racing. I like it gives us street radial folks a slight advantage over the race tire guys.

By the very nature of that statement Eric, one might get the impression that you actually do well sometimes... hmmmm. :D :p

The tentative course map is here (http://home.cfl.rr.com/mikesvette/course.pdf). It's a PDF, so you'll need Acrobat Reader to view it.

Yeah, once you're on 441 Northbound, there are two ways to get on CR448. The first one is labeled a truck route and is very straight. It will come to a T-intersection, where you turn right. Stay on this road until you come to the 4-way stoplight, then turn left on CR561.

The other way is a bit further up 441. It's curvy, and you'll eventually come to a T-intersection as well. When you turn right here, you're turning onto the same highway as the earlier route. So just stay on it until you turn left onto CR561.

I believe the Pink Pig (food vendor) is out there regularly now. They offer some breakfast items and lunch items. I think it's damn good
