guionM 09-18-2002, 02:25 PM Cars as a group are getting ridiculously fast. Won't be long before you LS1 guys are going to be in trouble.

Captain Jeff Z28 09-18-2002, 02:42 PM I don't care much for Swedish hockey players, but that car is gorgeous.:o:cool:
Jeff
:)
Chris 96 WS6 09-18-2002, 04:30 PM Yes, that is a good looking car. I like some of the new Volvo bodies since they finally have started to move away from the box design philosophy.
Brembo brakes, 300hp....seems like every OEM is catching the aftermarket tuner fever these days, LOL.
5.7 0-60, but I bet the 1/4 mile is still in the mid 14s due to lack of torque and I would be suprised if that car could hang with an LT1 F-body on a roadcourse. Straight line braking might go to the volvo though. Which is why every LT1 owner needs to buy my C5 front brake upgrade package, LOL.
But seriously, that's still a helluva performer for a sedan.
silent1 09-18-2002, 05:05 PM But I wonder how much would it cost if and when it makes it over here. I think a fully loaded S60 can run up to almost $40K, so you know they're gonna cost a bit more.
WJH'sFormula 09-18-2002, 06:00 PM i wonder what the watered down US version will entail...
I can see it now...
Volvo S60 R, 260 hp, 4spd manumatic, front wheel drive, 17" wheels, all season tires, "upgraded brakes", 0-60mph in under 7.0 seconds and a top speed over 120 mph!!! Nice and boring for you Americans!!!
DaxsZ28 09-18-2002, 07:25 PM Doesn't GM own Volvo, or is it Saab I'm thinking of?

Doh!
I just drove by Ford's office on I-5 a few days ago & they had Volvo as one of the brand logos out front, so I should have known that.
BTW, for you L.A. sightseerers, Ford's Orange county office (Lincoln/Mercury/Volvo/west coast Ford) is about a half mile north of the I-5/405 interchange on the west side, off the Alton(?) Street exit, right next to the freeway.
BergerSS435 09-18-2002, 10:56 PM Volkswagen owns Bentley
Kirk
slashz28 09-19-2002, 01:58 AM ford owns 50% of volvo. it owns volvo car division but not volvo truck division (if im not mistaken, but its something along those lines).
If its not a Camaro, so what?! :) :D
