I would definately like to know about this .
Also which turbo is best for the 1200 hp range for the single and which ones for the twins .
97WS6SCharged 04-23-2004, 09:44 PM No one makes a twin kit for an LT1, AFIK. It would be cool, but a single works pretty well.
For 1200hp on a single, you're going to be looking at something like a PT88. From what I've heard, they will fit on a PTK setup with a little modification. :)

97WS6SCharged 04-24-2004, 12:41 AM I haven't forgotten about you Jose, I'm still trying to get my money tree to bloom. I've got my ticket for Saturday night's lotto though, maybe I'll get lucky. :)

97WS6SCharged 04-24-2004, 02:01 PM What's $7k in the grand scheme of things? :D
NoFear95 04-24-2004, 02:44 PM Speed Inc is working on a twin turbo for one of there shop cars.

JZ 97 SS 1500 04-25-2004, 10:37 AM If your looking to make 1200 hp with the twin kit, the GT28's will not make that power. The GT28R's are only rated 320hp each. You would need to jump up to a set of GT35S's or GT35R's to make 1200hp, but the 35's are more $$ then the 28's. So count on more then 7K.

Highlander 04-25-2004, 03:46 PM What would be the biggest advantage on going with a TT vs ST?
Jesse_Boyer 04-25-2004, 10:33 PM spool times may be faster with twins. the downside is packaging. it's just hard to wedge twins in these cars and do it neatly.
imo, btw.

nice, warm, fuzzy feeling inside when you get an agreement like that. Makes me think i have developed some knowledge of these things :D
JZ 97 SS 1500 04-26-2004, 12:18 AM Twins are a packaging nightmare as Jesse described, as well as extra heat from the additional turbo under the hood. Also the extra weight added from all the additional piping as well as the extra turbo, wastegate,..etc..etc, and lastly, just more components that can fail and cause you lots of misery and $$. With a properly sized single and all the new wheels out you can have the best of both worlds.

NOYZEE 04-27-2004, 01:07 PM CAS was doing a tt kit, they are hard to get if you can at all.
Im pretty sure INTMD8 would custom somthing for you for a small fee and your car to IL so he can fabricate it.
NoFear95 04-27-2004, 02:06 PM INTMD8 is the one building the twin turbo set-up in the Speed Inc shop. Had the old single turbo set-up stripped out at the Speed inc open house. Cant wait to see what he does with it this year!
NOYZEE 04-29-2004, 12:36 PM there shop car isnt twin, it is one BIG ASS ;)
NoFear95 04-29-2004, 02:21 PM INTMD8 works there. I see his twin turbo is up and running, 834ish rwhp.
But yes there "shop car" has one Big @ss turbo on it.
