I want to install a manual cutout in my 90 Iroc 305 TPI. Im going to order one from Jeggs i think. I need some info first though. What size pipe do i need. Where exactly would be the ideal place to install the cutout so its easily accesible yet still before the cat. Pictures and details would be a major plus. Thanks guys.

I'm guessing that since you are planning on installing if before the cat, you don't have to worry about emissions laws or cops haggling you. People get enough **** for installing them after the cat, also keep in mind this is going to be INSANELY LOUD and could adversely affect the motor in the long run, running with such little back pressure. Maybe for trips to the track, but you are not going to launch as well and that is OUR only strong point at the track. I personally would never run open header unless I absolutely had to...
Its an easy install, but putting it before the cat there isn't much room. I would invest in an electric plate for it, save yourself time, and maybe a few trips to the first aid kit...

Hard to say Mike, there were a bunch of different optioned cars that came with 2 3/4" pipe, 2 1/4" pipe etc. You have to actually go measure the pipe somehow. You could measure the circumference and divide by pi and get the pipe diameter.

Welcome man, pi is 3.14159267 IIRC. Hope all this helps.

I would say if its a 350 or the like, the smallest they would put on it would be 2.75" piping. My old 86 had 2.25" pipes but that was significantly less hiperformance
