Cam Casting Decoding

I recently pulled the camshaft out of the 327 that came with my Camaro and I have no idea what kind of cam it is. I want to rebuild the motor a little harder, and I'm trying to figure out if I want to use this cam or not still. I don't think it's a GM cam since all of the GM cam decoding websites I've checked talk about long casting numbers. The only numbers I found on the camshaft are here:

1578 (maybe 9) this was colored with a pink paint

There were also two stamped plate looking castings on either ends that read:

02 or O2
D10 or D1O
K9
CW0 or CWO (I think)
C10

Anybody have any idea?

Darn near impossible to decode a cam. Get a micrometer and check the base circle diameter and the lobe height to determine lift, times the 1.5 rocker ratio to get lift at valve.

dont use it, its almost definetly a tiny 196/202 .390/.410 cam that was installed in most 327's and 350's

even if it isnt, if its a stock cam from the 60's, technology has progressed so far since then that a new cam is worth the small cost.

I doubt it's a GM cam. It doesn't have anything that looks like a GM casting number on it. There was a bunch of aftermarket work done to this motor when I got it, so I doubt it's too old. I'll probably just end up buying a new cam anyway.

jeeze, I'm retarded. I read your post and completley missed the "dont think its a GM cam" part...
