Special thanks to camaro_zach from www.firebirdv6.com

He posted pics on it and yesterday I was motivated.
I've always heard soooo much about it but no one ever posted pics.
The whole thing took 3 hours.
1.5 hours for the front and 1.5 hours for the rear.
Front bumper support was 24.5 pounds
Rear bumper support was 20 pounds
Since I am desperately trying to hit 11's before the end of the season weight is a concern
I also removed my sub woofer for 13 pounds
Grand total 57.5 pounds today!!!
Previous best track weight was 3240 with 2 front seats and 1/2 tank of gas w/o driver of course.
I still have to install my light weight racing seats out of my 72 chevelle instead of my stock cloth seats.
I think the stock ones weigh 33 pounds?
I'm guessing that 1 of my light weight seats weigh in at 20 pounds
So, when I go for 11's I'll only run 1 seat in the bird
66 pounds gone from stock seats, 20 pounds put back for light weight seat, 46 pounds lost
Just over 100 pounds from supports and seats. Best part is it cost me nothing :D
Wooo hoooooo
I know people immediately say this is stupid for a daily driven car. I agree. I am trying to see 11's. Once E town closes up for the season I'll put them back in.
Last time at the track for a photo shoot for high performance pontiac I launched with my et streets, pulled a 1.630 60 foot with 323 gears. My buddies said they saw a glimpse of light under my drivers side front skinny (unfortunately no photo proof).
Top end though I lost my fuel solenoid and tranny and went 12.6 at 103 :( The tranny was on its last legs also. I could only run high 14's all motor.
I've gotten my tranny built to all hell. It is built to handle a 10 second car, not that mine will ever see those numbers.
I'm waiting on my fuel solenoid to come back from TNT.
Sure, I know it is only a v6 but it sure is fun!!!
I just wanted to post this.
Last time I was asking about k member's and a arms, so, I went out and bought the mild steel light weight drag k member, light weight mild steel lower a arms, and a manual steering rack.
Yes, I need a hobbie :D
