MustangEater82 04-20-2004, 10:22 PM Chuck, have any pictures?
I found somone with some interest...
I checked the MSCC site to see if maybe they had an action shot floating around... but they don't have all the old years posted but damn they redid the whole site!
hehe whats kind of funny is earlier today, daydreaming at work I was thinking that would be a cool car to own... but then I realized I don't have much money :)
MustangEater82 04-21-2004, 06:57 AM Found another half interested person but he is offering to trade a '78 402 Big block Nova
I said its unlikley you woudl trade but I would ask...
MustangEater82 04-21-2004, 04:42 PM I got this question from another person as well...
"i'm interested in this...j/w if it'd be capable of being a daily driver... what's the fuel economy like on that 383?"
2002Z28SSConv 04-21-2004, 06:41 PM I think it's around 10 on average. Less if you misbehave, more if you stay out of the gas.

It's not really firm but I think that $1,000 just won't do. I'll entertain all offers though. Even motorcycles and jet skis! lol Don't tell my wife about that one. :D
Issues? lol It's a sixteen year old Frankenstein car (completely transplanted drivetrain). It's a gem really!
Seriously, I've fixed almost all of the "issues". The previous owners knew nothing about cars. They had money and wanted a bad, loud, street thumper. They bought it from the guy who built it. The previous owners got divorced. It went to the wife's pile of booty. But it never left the husband's driveway because it didn't have a tag anymore. He threatened to have it towed. I heard about it from a friend and picked it up. It barely ran. Spark plug wires resting on headers don't usually last too long. But there were too many screwy things with it to list here. They had a mechanic that was swapping parts behind their backs whenever they had a problem.
The final issues now are the vent blower controls, stereo, no sun visors, speedo isn't calibrated for 373's, leopard skin haedliner, and needing paint for the hood and right front fender. The torque converter needs to be changed to a higher stall or the cam and intake need to be changed to bring the power band lower. But that is only an issue if you plan on racing it.
MustangEater82 04-23-2004, 12:14 AM Hey chuck I gave him your e-mail address you have listed... I tried to find his but the site its on you cannot see peoples addresses... here is AIM if you happen to have AIM though VANZRIDER
BTW he is in Clermont
he seems a little eager to deal kinda quick, he was complaing about how he sees nice cars and they disapear quickly... And I told him you might be willing to work with the price a little. I think you are offering a good deal and wouldn't want you to go too much lower.

 yes yes i know its an old car...i guess i should have said any major problems.
S84Z28 04-23-2004, 11:00 AM Any interior shots? What about the motor how many miles on it? Stock heads? Cam sounds decent, any specs? How straight are the doors and the 1/4 panels (dentwise)?
MustangEater82 04-23-2004, 11:12 AM hey chuck sent you a PM of the guys e-mail...
2002Z28SSConv 04-23-2004, 05:14 PM The build sheet that I got when I bought it listed several things that I have since found out to be false. Not that I was lied to. Their mechanic had been swapping stuff. The heads are supposed to be really good but I think they got switched. I found a receipt in the trunk saying that it needed new heads. Plus the heads are painted silver and the rest of the motor is a dark red implying that they aren't the same ones that were on there when the motor got built up. But again, I don't know for sure.
I'm still looking for the spec sheet but I don't remember the cam specs being on there anyway.
The body in general has a few spots that could use a block sanding. The doors are a bit dinged up but not bad. The rear corners have bondo just before the taillights. But again it's not really bad. You can see it if you're looking for it but it's not obvious and hideous. The front fascia is a bit saggy and has plenty evidence of dragging the ground on inclines and parking space curbs. But again, not really hideous or unrepairable.
The speedo cable had become detached from the transmission when I bought it. Again one of those simple things to fix that they had no idea how to do, so they left it. So the mileage isn't accurate. Plus the speedo is not calibrated for the 373's. So I have no idea how many miles are on the motor. But I will say that it's not a spring chicken. The seals leak so it's not low mileage. The odometer says around 100,000 miles.
But for what is here:
A good running Camaro with 4 bolt 383, just rebuilt TH350, fresh brakes, new tires ... That should be worth the money I'm asking.
Even if decided to daily drive it and you had to freshen up the motor in another year all the machine work and stroker parts are already there so it wouuld be cheap to do.
The biggest negative of the whole car is that I'm not sure of what's in it. That's why I'm not wanting more money.
This is the only interior pic I have. It's the headliner.
