Very nice!! :cool: It sounds very mean now but the big question is how does it drive?

On a side note my Optispark took a crap on me at Roebling Road this weekend and developed a high RPM miss. It's ten years old so I can't complain but it showed up while I was passing a 944 down the front strait and I'm sure the guy wondered WTF as I got off the throttle and pulled back in behind him. Time to do a little wrenching myself but all should be good before the May 8th autocross.

Sounds good, but I'm tellin ya you should have left the manifolds on. For backpressure and stuff :D

All I can say is that I don't remember having such a hard time keeping traction in first gear before! :D

I can spin first pretty much at any speed. 2nd still grabs okay though. My tires are pretty well shot too. But from last week to this week there aint that much difference on them.

From 2000 to 2400 RPM I get this really wicked raspy droney RRRRRRAAAAKKKKKK if I give it more than 1/3 throttle. I find my self wanting to select gears to stay in that RPM range... lol

All in all I couldn't be happier with them. I think I still have a slight leak but I haven't found it yet. I'm gonna retorque the header bolts this week sometime. I left the stock motor mounts in it too. It banged on the floor a couple times. The Y pipe is jointed on the driver's side so I just adjusted it a little and no more bumps.

When's the next dyno day. I'm there!

I'll review your page again and let you know. There weren't any huge problems. I do still have a slight leak somewhere. I know the Y pipe doesn't fit real tight into the catback and the fact that it's a bit short too doesn't help. I'm not sure if that's where the sound is coming from entirely. I might take the Y pipe down to an exhaust shop and have them expand the outlet a little bit so it fits tighter. Other than that I will have to seperate the headers from the heads and put a new set of Felpro gaskets in there.

Anyway, I'm sure your Z28 would probably take my SS already. You have a few more mods than I do.

The "after" was actually two and a half days later. But yeah it took around 8 hours by myself with breaks and a trip to the store for new spark plugs.

chuck do youself a favor and just get the metal OEM manifold gaskets.

they seal really well

i have no leaks and i havn't even rechecked the bolts yet.

Here's another vote the the GM tri-metal exhaust manifold gaskets.

I'm all set except for the tuning. So stay off I-4 between 1AM and 3AM :D
