MaStach ALDL cable - will this work for a 93 LT1?

It looks like this is what I need to connect my car to a laptop to run some diagnostic software. Anyone have any experience with this cable? Does it come with everything needed?

Looks like a basic cable that you need to manually tap into the ALDL connector. Andrew makes a cable that has the molded ALDL connector and the DB9 serial connector. Cost a bit more. :)
